The one at the back door just saves us from walking thru snow to get it. Now on days when that box is empty, Ted will use the wheel barrow to haul the wood to the box on the deck. This might take 45 minutes or so. But seems to work for us. When it was in the basement...it was a lot more work carrying it down and back up the stairs. The sun just peeked thru a tiny bit today. I wore long sleeves all day. I went to visit my daughter Angie and had a coffee with some spicy creamer. So good. Glad you are starting to have some autumn . I guess he has better access at the wood box? I love seeing piles of wood all stacked up. My mother-in-law has stacked up wood at her house in the mountains. Oh, it's already starting to rain there! To me it's dirty and hard work. LOL. But I will say that two winters ago, we really saved money on L.P. fuel. It was up to 5 dollars a gallon and we did not need any when the fuel truck came..we still had enough in the tank to hold off till prices dropped again. I do like having the wood handy at the back door. We put the ash in the burn ring and haul it to a friend garden in spring. Win-win there.
