Summer Is Fading.....

Even though some of my summer flowers are still holding on, you can feel autumn in the air.
Some of the petunias are leggy but pretty.
Go into town and there are mums everywhere. Not all are bloomed out but soon will be.
The sun is setting in a new place in the evenings.
The corn and soy beans are turning brown also.  Fall is so very near.  I was not ready !!! I wanted many more weeks of summertime. :):) We had a super wet spring, a dry summer and I am not sure about fall. I always hope for a lovely Indian Summer. It can come in Oct. or Nov. ....and that would be fine with me.
My granddaughter survived Irma. She was fortunate . I told her I was proud of the strong young woman she has become.  She truly was prepared for the worst.
My heart aches for those that lost loved ones and their homes. Our country will be a long time cleaning up after Harvey and Irma. I hope that Jose goes out to sea and disperses. We do not want any more storms .  XO

Tipton County Pork Festival....

The Tipton county pork festival opened yesterday. The fest is set up right around the courthouse square.
Crafts , wares, and plenty of good foods. Entertainment this evening and tomorrow night.
Ted and I met Angie and Kathy for lunch today.  I had the pulled pork b-b-q.  You had to eat it with a fork....too big to pick up to eat. Angie had the b-b-q also. Kathy and Ted had pork on a stick....a tenderloin about 2 inches thick. Ted ate his and half of Kathy's. LOL
I love the art tent. Where pros and amateurs show their photography and art works. This is an oil painting that won. It's an Indian with buffalo in the background.
This was a beautiful picture of Taylor Swift , done by a middle school girl.  Really good work.
Stopped by Horton's for a few pictures.  I love this turquoise mixed with rust colors.
Sweet cloth pumpkins on a plaid tablecloth..
Outside by their little shed ,some fall décor. I loved the jack-o-lantern cans.
These are bigger...would be cute with a mum popped inside. It was a warm day at the fest. Ted and I did not stay long. I just can't do all that walking and looking. I truly do not need any more decorating things. So we left Angie and Kathy, the young people, to look thru tents and visit with townspeople. It was fun and made me think of the "good old days" of when I would walk all day on Fridays with Angie. Then we'd be back again on Saturday to watch the parade with all her sisters and the grandkids. I miss those wonderful times.
If you are near central Indiana come to the festival for a good meal and some fun.  Be safe. XO

Lots Of Things Happened....

Here's great granddaughter Layla doing her model pose. LOL  Those glasses make me think of my mother. My mom would leave her sun glasses on tables in restaurants  or counters in stores. Good thing she got them at cheap prices.  Layla is rocking her "Gramma Maddie " glasses. (Who would be Layla's great-great grandmother) This Friday, my mother will be gone eleven years and I miss her still.

Sweet Max nuzzling his baby brother Luke. Max is 20 months old and Luke is 4 months. Both boys seem to be teething , Max's  are in back and Luke's getting those first baby teeth. You know those razor sharp ones. LOL
Matt (Emma's daddy) , took Sam the dog , on a hike up in Michigan over the weekend. They are good buddies. Sam is doing so well.
Grandson Jake closed on his house purchase. He's moving in slowly. This is an older home that's been up-dated. I like this wall with an electric fireplace and the mantle with the TV over it. I feel The mantle should have been just a bit lower. (my taste)
Here's Jake's mommy (Angie) Showing some of Jake's furniture choices.  I  like that the flooring in the high traffic areas is wood. Easy to clean.
Behind this cute barn door is a utility room where Jake will have his washer and dryer. Right off the master bath , just perfect for Jake.
I am not crazy about this "picture" window. But you can see the neighborhood. LOL. Really nice and clean.
Daughter Liz , painted her front door...she needs to give it another coat. She likes this color so much.
It kind of matches the kids playhouse door and roof. So Liz painted the little playhouse that was white. She chose a brown similar to the brick of their house. LOL. Layla and Max play here and swing on the swing set .
Liz's twin sister Karen, painted her front door also. She chose a deep blue. This picture looks a bit periwinkle in color.
It was busy thru out the whole holiday week for my family.  Ted and I did lots of running back and forth.
We had a beautiful weekend....some rain . Monday evening the storms came thru. Thankfully no damage here. But the same line of storms did damage in Ohio. So much scary weather...and more to come. Please be safe in Florida people . Do not risk your lives. Praying for our country. XO

Quiet Drives.....

Ted and I have been taking some drives around our area, just to enjoy the evening hour.
I love to get photos of the clouds and sunsets.
Here's the Cargill's at the edge of Tipton .  I really liked the yellow sky and clouds.
The sun is slipping below the tall corn here near our road.
This is a shot of the new phone tower near town.  You can only see it with the puffy clouds behind it.      This weekend has been a bit quiet for us. Ted did a favor for the neighbors, making a wheel chair ramp for Chrissy' s father to be able to visit their house again. Then we went to town to see our grandson Jake's new house. His mom and aunt Kathy were working in the kitchen. Actually washing the insides of the cabinets and getting them ready.  Jake has his bedroom ready and his office set up.  I like the house and it's in a wonderful neighborhood.
Wishing all of you a great holiday. Still praying for the flood victims.  XO

Sneak Peek.....

September the 23rd, on a Saturday, Horton's will have their Fall Market. I looked in the store to get a few photos.  I liked the colors of this display.
Such a cute sign with the bicycle.
I like this old green color on this box. Wanted the old gentleman's hat...but it was a bit pricy for wants.
Aren't these pumpkin towels the sweetest?  The pillow matches.
Now this is clever, wooden spoons painted with jack-o-lantern faces. This would certainly be a great craft to do with children.
Today I got my permanent crown . So glad that is over. I sure hope my insurance pays most of it. .Today was an easy in and out appointment at the dentist. I am so thankful.
I have noticed it is feeling more fall like in the mornings here. This morning was very foggy. Some of the flowers are looking raggedy. I try to keep them going till I have to say , "uncle", and give up. Then I will be tearing out the flowers, keeping the greenery and adding some fake flowers. LOL...I am getting lazy and decided fake is so easy with the greenery and look good too.
Hope everyone is still holding our southern friends in their hearts. Send good thoughts, prayers and even money if you can. What a bleak looking future for so many...they need us all to help. We all need each other. Bless you. XO

Here Goes....

This is the first post since getting my computer fixed. Am I satisfied...no, I am not. Once things work, why does windows want to change it.  The geeks did not get my usual way of loading pictures back and now to bring one up for a post is even longer than before.  But this is my first picture of our cute little Luke.  He's is doing well. A big boy for 4 months.
This is big brother Max and his pretty mommy.
Max and cousin Layla swinging in the park.  This weekend is the Summer's End Festival in Rossville. There was a kick off parade. Lynzie said Max loved it. He also could hold on to the candy that was passed out. Too funny.
Our mornings have been so cool and sweet here this past week.
A couple of foggy mornings. Our lawn needs a good soaking , so dry and some brown spots.  We will get some rain this coming week.  Let's all send good thoughts and prayers to the people of Texas. They are getting dumped on by the hurricane Harvey.  Far too much rain. They will need help of all kinds there.
   Be safe. XO

Hints Of Autumn....

I took this picture in town at the start of this month. Now August is close to the end.  I am sorry I can not visit your blogs and leave comments. I am still going to have to take my computer in for fixing. I miss all of you. I can not even reply to your comments on the post I made yesterday.  Be safe, I will return as soon as possible. XO
