Playing With Pumpkins...

These are the mini white pumpkins I bought at farmer's market on Saturday. I have been playing around with them and those felt crows Emma  and I made. I use this cheese dome for a cloche. If and that is a big IF, I ever sort out my china cabinet....then I could buy some real cloche. I have no place to put them. Gosh, as I am typing this, yes typing with my two fingers. LOL I am thinking , I have a mantle, what better place to keep cloches and have them out all the time. Well thanks everyone for that great idea. :):) So happy !!!

Apples, Butters , And Pumpkins....

We went to the orchard last year and I am wanting to go back today. We drove by a couple times this year and honestly I didn't see many apples on the trees. These photos are from last year.
All these yummy butters and honey, sure look good. I have had apple  and pumpkin butters. Never any cherry butter. That might be worth trying once.
I do not need any more pumpkins.I love seeing piles of gourds and pumpkins.Nothing sadder than seeing a pumpkin lying out in the snow at winter. I think I will take the seeds out of the ones I have. Then I can chop the rest up for the compost pile. Until then they are decorations for autumn. Dinner is in the crock pot and I am almost ready for running into town. xo

Mums At The Library....

This is the pretty yellow mum in one of the flowerbeds at the library. I love the soft yellow color. I just may have to buy one .:):) The thing about mums for me , they are so hardy. I love tough plants, not into plants that take lots of care. Don't want to take the time . Too many other things I am interested in doing.
Had brunch with my classmates today. There were eight of us attending. I know we must sound like a bunch of hens when we are laughing...but laughter is good medicine.:):) Hope you have some laughs today. xo

Sights Around Town....

This pretty tree is near the courthouse parking lot. We were just sitting at the farmer's market and I decided to walk around, a few blocks, left Ted Bear is charge:):)I absolutely love our change of seasons. To be honest though, I am not looking forward to winter. The wind has been blowing since yesterday after noon and it's taking the beautiful leaves down from the trees.

Saw this cat walking up his drive. Just as I stopped to get his picture, he sat to pose. He was really a big healthy cat. Hope your Sunday is happy . xo

Going Into Town......

Took this shot through the windshield. I love when the street lamps are on in town. There is nothing very outstanding about our town, but I love it. My brother used to gripe about our town . I asked if he owned an atlas, he said yes, I told him to find himself a route out,if he hated it here so much. LOL. Yes, he still lives here.  No that's not him by the tree, it's one of my scarecrows, just hanging around. We went to Farmer's Market today, for the last time this year. I bought some white mini pumpkins and a book. We didn't sell anything today. I think only a 1/2 dozen people walked through the area. It was cold, didn't get as warm as the weatherman predicted. :):) Hope you day was fun.xo

This Week.....

Just down the road. This beautiful woods, corn fields, and soy beans fields. The blue house and garage is not a farm. The yellow house, garage and white barn , is one of the owners of the fields and this woods. We are close to this area. This year beans were grown in the field across the road from us. Next year it will be corn....the corn gets so tall, that I start to feel hemmed in by it. So corn season across the road from us , is not my favorite. LOL
This shot is in the Tipton park. I love this tree. You can see the swing sets of the playground. My sisters and I did get to walk the park this week. Love going there. This week was busy for me. I painted one day at my daughters. Got my flu shot. Then had my driver's licenses renewed and the plates on my car. Went to the grocery store one day.Walked with my sisters another. Today will be cleaning out the fridge/freezer. Tomorrow we will set up at the Farmer's Market . Only because it's suppose to be in the high 60's to the low 70's. It will be pleasant to sit out in that kind of weather. Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend.xo

Pumpkins And Mums......

This is some of the decor on our porch. I haven't been able to do much outside lately. So I feel as if I am way behind. The pumpkin beside the white mum is called goosebumps. My s-i-l grew some this year. Takes a bit of room for pumpkins . I could plant them in our garden plot next year, if I save the seeds . This year we had one tomato plant in a barrel, that was the extent of our garden. Sad :):) I am looking at these pictures and realize the mums are just in the plain plastic pots..Ha. I have some harvest baskets I could have put them in, for a more appealing shot. Enjoy this wonderful day. xoxo

Out The Kitchen Window.....

When doing dishes, this is my view.  I love to washes dishes. I must, I know I have washed many. I have a dishwasher and never use it. When I was raising my daughters, I used to tease that I had 4 dishwashers(girls) and none of them worked. LOL  I do remember how very excited they were, when I got my first dishwasher. I think they all have one. I do know my sisters and I would have loved for our parents to have one installed. We had to take turns doing dishes. That was a chore we did when getting finished with dinner. We had other chores when coming home from school. I am sure many of you did also.  At the recent grandparents day at school, many kids were shocked to know their g.parents did chores without an allowance. :):)

Crows......

Here are the crows that Emma and I made on Saturday. Cut the crows form black felt, paint some pinch clothes pins black. Then hot glue the pins on the birds.
Scatter all over the house. I had two little fake blackbirds, I just put them in the mix. It looks nice .:):)

Crafting Through The Weekend.....

Here's Emma and I busy painting. She saw a sign about sunflowers in a store in her town and wanted to make her own. She had in mind how she wanted it and she did it. Even down to the reflective white spots on some letters. I didn't get pictures of the crows or the poster she made for her bedroom. I have the crows , so I better get a picture of them to post. I can see, by some of the other crafting photos of Emma, just how much she has grown in a year. My gosh she even resembles me, in our old painting shirts and ponytails.:):):)

Autumn...

I am loving this weather. The summer was such a hot one, that I can even enjoy the cold at about 6 in the morning. Some of the flowers are doing much better in this cooler air. Although these are not mine, I thought they looked so nice. Hope all of you are having a great weekend. Seeing family or friends. Talking walks , buying apples at the market.  It is that time of year. xo

Walking In Sunshine...

Oh today is one of those wonderful autumn days. I would love for the weather to be this nice till Jan.:):) I know that may be asking for too much. I walked with 2 of my sisters today.
We walked at the Academy, and then had a coffee break with beautiful Sister Virginia. She told us she will be going to Kalamazoo in November. We will miss her. She was excited to see us today. We called to tell the director we were coming to visit. It's so peaceful to be there. They all love to get hugs.
My sisters , Jeanie and Pam. Pam and I worked at the same place  for 30 years. So we like to have our get togethers. I have 4 sisters...I know that I have things in common with each one, and even the differences makes it fun .I have to say we are all different and yet alike in some ways. Sometimes, I think , who are these people .LOL. Hope you had a great day. xo

Old Man Moon & G.parents.....

I snapped this shot early in the morning Sunday. I didn't realize the moon was full , till I went for the morning paper. It also was chilly. I love crisp mornings ,but only if the sky is clear. It is hard for me to believe that October is here. My life has wings, and it seems to be flying by. This Friday is grandparents day. Ted and I will go to see Savannah and Emma at school. It will be Savannah's last year to have grandparent's day. As she will be in 5th grade. Emma only has a couple more years, for us to attend . She will be coming home with us after, to spend a couple nights. Oh you know the crafting will be on. xoxo

Chairs...

Ted Bear made these chairs and stools as a housewarming gifts for Angie and Mark. They are made of cedar , so they will age to a gray. The kids could even paint them if they like. We have to keep them here till Angie is moved into their new home. Which , I know they are hoping for before winter. Mark did the wiring and plumbing of the house and Angie and I are doing the painting. We have two small halls, one bath, one closet, and touch up in the kitchen to go. I can't seem to get Angie to not get too far ahead of me....as I am the one doing the cutting in. If she paints too fast , it's a lot of up/down the ladder for me, so we do not get what is called hatband effect. I think the girl is in a hurry.:):) She does her teaching job, zumba instructing, and then works on the new house. Her husband , Mark, works his plumbing jobs, then he works on the house. Needless to say, I'll be soooo happy for it to all be done. xo
