Blacktops & Black Eyed Susans....

On Thursday, last week, the men came to seal the driveways. They did a fine job. It was a grandfather and his grandson. Hard workers.  Some times the grandson let his grandfather sit a spell.:):)
Here's a look at some of our black eyed susans.  Some of my flowerbeds seem to have a  fungus on them. Not this group here. But two other beds. I should look it up and take care of that problems.  I brought a couple of these plants from our house in town for starts out here.  They have done well.
Our storms yesterday were minor. Lots of wind. Today is to be pop ups showers/storms. Still not too scary.  Wishing all of you a happy Sunday full of fun. xo

    1. I like when it's soy beans planted across the road, not corn.... gets too tall and blocks any views. I am ready for some nice sunshine. Send some my way, please. xoxo,Susie

  2. Good Morning, Susie. They did a neat job on your drive. The blackeyes Susans are so pretty. Do the goldfinches like to eat the seeds later in the summer?

    1. Yes, I leave all our flower heads for the birds through winter...doesn't always look so tidy...but I think the birds need it. Hope your Sunday is a beautiful one. xoxo,Susie

    1. Ann, Those people who do the drives are good hard workers. So polite too. The grandfather says the boy will take over the business when he retires. :):) The g.father is 78. I am hoping those that need rain get enough and never too much. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  4. Hi Susie,
Your drive looks so nice and the black eyed Susan's are so pretty. Mine are just opening up now too. I had a fungus and some kind of bug eating at mine and I went to the nursery and got a spray that kills the bugs and the fungus. It is an oil and I did not write down the name of it to tell you. It is working great. I am sure your local nursery will know. It smelled like Italian cooking oil to spray on the leaves. Have a great start to the new week.

    1. Hi Kris, Thank you. I knew someone would understand that blackening of the leafs on the Black-eyed susans.. I ued to take better care of my flowerbeds...seems I am not doing as well this year. I wish you a great new week too. After this nasty stuff goes thru we may have some nicer days. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  5. Your driveways look wonderful Susie! I sure wish I had asphalt on our driveway, but it's too long to be able to afford to do it.
Your black-eyed Susans are so lovely. Mine have struggled this year too and I have thought maybe it's the heat. One little bush is all that will bloom this year.
I hope you have a lovely week dear friend.
    hugs from here...

  6. Thank you June. I wish I had your green thumb when it comes to flowers. I do think our mixed up weather has hurt many things . The hard winter, a freeze/frost right at the wrong time this spring. It's scary for some trees around here. Blessings for all of you, xoxo,Susie
