Fashion.....

At the French Market last weekend, I saw this charming lady. I like that chevron striped dress she was wearing. I asked if I could take her picture, she was flattered. I told her she looked very nice in that dress. She said it hid a multitude of sins. I am thinking not, she just is an attractive lady.
This is a card I got from a young lady running a clothing booth. It's says JL mode..Eclectic Fashion. It's a new dress shop in Kokomo. Well they are having a Christmas in July sale next week. I am thinking of visiting, too see all they have there. The things they brought to the market were very nice and different than lots of things I have seen in the malls. Oh you know I will post if I buy any thing.
Once when I was laid off form my G.M. job, I became a fashion consultant. That is almost comical, thinking of what a wear now. Farm clothes. LOL It's all in the shoes, for me. I can't wear heels or fancy little pretty shoes with my arthritis.....but I still dream. I mostly wear comfy shoes, not many are pretty, don't you know.
Wonderful cool morning here with sunshine. God loves me !! XO

  1. I always wonder why I can't find a nice 'style' and not wear so many slouchy clothes! But I like being comfortable. I consider shorts and a nice top a 'cute' outfit! lol I would love to wear more dresses! You should come and consult me and help me find my style! Hugs, Diane

    1. You are wearing your comfortable clothes. You like to hike, and I think hiking attire is pretty cute. I have worn the shorts and boots at the same time. LOL. I like little vest with pockets with it too. I am more of a tailored style person myself, than frills. I also say if it's faddish attire, don't spend big money on it, Save the money for good styles that stay is style a long time and become classics. xoxo,Susie

  4. Oh Susie, I think you are one of the most grateful people I know. That zig zag dress is so cute, and I love eclectic things in fashion and home décor. I just loved your story about the time you waved at the old fellow sitting on the bench. I thought to myself, "now that's how we all need to be - compassionate. Life is hard, but it's up to us to make things simple for others. And Yes, maybe you DID make his day. I'm so glad I met you in blog land. You are truly a gem of a person.

    love,

    1. Laura, I guess I could wear comfy shoes if I wore a nice long dress. I may just try that. It would be nice to wear a dress to some function instead of slacks all the time. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  6. I wear all kinds of things, depending on where I am going. Sometimes I wear skirts to work and sometimes jeans. Depends on my mood. But the arthritis in my feet (a new thing for me) limits my shoes also. I try to buy pretty ballet flats to wear with my skirts and I have sneakers to wear with my pants. It's hard getting old. I used to wear heels all the time!

    1. Kathy, I truly miss my high heel days. I can wear some flats but I can not walk too far or stand too long in them...many an hour, then my feet start hurting. So no River Dancing for me , LOL. Hope you are having good weather..it's been just right here the past two days. xoxo,Susie

    1. Boston boy, when our feet hurt , it seems everything hurts. LOL. I won't be River Dancing any time soon. I think tennis shoes have been a curse to mankind's feet. Hope you have good feet, after working the store as long as you did. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  9. I am with you when it comes to shoes. I don't like when my feet hurt. I love the zig-zag dress because it is different. I wore a dress to the wedding that I went to. It is the first time for along while since I normally wear slacks or Jeans. Have a wonderful day and take care. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.

    1. Shirley, I hope your day was a great one. We are having some low humidity ...I love it. I wore tennis shoes too much while working on concrete floors in the factory. I changed my shoes out everyday...trying not to wear the same ones all the time. That didn't help. I do well walking for one day , but if I walk two days in a row, my feet will bother me. Hope things are well there. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  10. I'd love to be able to wear cute shoes. I need to wear my orthotics most of the time and that means I need to wear my sneakers. I do wear crocs sandals sometimes and they are sort of cute.

    1. Carol, I know with all the walking you do, comfy shoes is absolutely the way to go. I am afraid if I don't wear other shoes once in awhile it will make my feet worse. I have orthotics and I quit wearing...they make my feet hurt more. xoxo,Susie

We are having very similar weather here too. Just gorgeous sleeping weather to have the windows open. Hey I think comfy is the way to go. What ever feels best for who you are. For me it is my comfy capri jeans rolled and a cute top.

  14. Comfy crops and pretty tops. Maxi sundresses with Summer jackets and closed toed espadrilles for work...since we can't wear crops or open toed shoes.

Our weather is HOT! I have a heat rash for the first time ever! I hope that not TMI! I am ready for a cool down!
    Happy Summer, Susie!

    1. Hate that your weather isn't as good as ours. This is like I could stand for my whole summer to be. I think I am going to look for some maxi dresses...that way I could wear flats, just for a fancier occasion than going to the store. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  16. I love cute, stylish clothes, but wear what is comfy. Especially shoes since I have a bad ankle and need support most of the time. I'll occasionally wear sandals when I'm going out and not going to be walking much. The lady you took the photo of is very pretty and stylish!
