Going For A Walk.....

Today, my sister Jeanie and I are going to walk in the park again. Then maybe hit this junk shop.
I like looking at junk, even if I do not buy any. This old picture looks like someone's figurine collection. Makes me wonder, why do we collect. Do any of you collect certain items?? I used to have music boxes....nothing expensive. I sold them in a garage sale when we moved here. Now I seem drawn to little white pitchers, maybe creamers. I hope I do not see any today. LOL
Wishing you a fun day. Ours is cool , almost has the feeling of autumn.  XO

  1. I am usually on the lookout for things that would complete - or add to - the already too many sets of china I have! Sometimes I find a real bargain, but not very often. Enjoy your walk with your sister. xo Nellie

  2. Funny you would mention pitchers. I visited a blog last night and she had so many beautiful pitchers (white) in vignettes all over her home. Hope you two have a great afternoon.
For a while, I collected cookbooks - these days, I don't bake much!

    1. Once I owned a cookbook that belonged to my MIL....I loved lookingthrough that book so often. Then I gave it to my daughter who loved to cook. I just thought that made more sense. But I still think about that wonderful book. :):) xoxo,Susie

  3. I collect a lot of things. But if I buy them cheap, I don't mind getting rid of them later. I'll enjoy them for awhile! I have lots of cookbooks too....and rarely bake any more. (reading the comment above mine! lol) HUGS!

  5. Good for you Susie. A little exercise and some fun too. Two for one! I don't think there is enough room to list what I like to collect, but I have sold things in the past and have lived to regret it!! Maybe that's the description of a hoarder??? But certainly not one of those like you see on TV!!..Happy Wednesday..Judy

    1. Judy, You made me laugh...I some times wonder if I don't start sorting and tossing, would I be on that show myself. Some have gone from hoarding to dire circumstances. All the bugs, mice, too scary. Give me goose bumps. I give away things and think oh where is this or that...and it's gone. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  6. Hi, Susie..thanks so much for coming by.
First off, my middle name is Jean and I've been Jeanie all my life to my family.
I collect...white pitchers. I gave most of my creamers to my daughter when we moved but I have a few still and I like larger white pitchers, too. I tried to downsize all my collections when we sold our home of 40 yrs and moved to be closer to our kids. I stilll have too many dishes but...what's a girl to do?? lol

  10. I don't really collect anything, but having said that, I do have about 12 Bibles, including one that was a childhood Bible that was rescued from a tornado.

  11. I wonder sometimes why we are drawn to some things. Of course, I collect milk glass and white ironstone and am attracted to all things white, shabby and chippy. I love rusty but don't do much collecting there. I do collect dust:)

    1. I think our taste change as we age. I know our amounts of money to spend sure changes. I use to have a shoe collection, but I can wear fancy heels or platforms..so I got rid of my shoe collection , along with the music boxes. Simpler life style now. Show your "sweet tea " things some time. , I would love to see it , xoxo,Susie

  14. I know about collecting. I started collecting comic books as a kid, stopped the picked it up again about 10 years later. I hope to cash in one day. I have not collected in 25 years. It can get out of hand.

    1. Boston Boy, You may own something very valuable....I know comics are really about the first kind of collecting I ever heard of. I have been reading a comic strip about comic collecting lately. Funny. It's called Funky Winkerbean. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  16. Susie,
I love figurines, there's just something about them. My mother-in-law has a figurine of a little girl playing the piano, and every time I visit her, I admire it. I have a few collections myself - perfume bottles, pretty frames, and fairies. I hope you had fun browsing the shops with your sister, Susie. Show me if you bought anything, would you?

    love,
    ~Sheri
