I Want To Start Over...

Some old photos of Horton's.  I loved this bike with a stack of small luggage bags.
This is the old patio umbrella decorated with lace table cloths that I told Mona about.
This thin single bed is always decorated  with lots of pillows. I can't wait to see what they have done with it this year.
You can see old windows and doors make up rooms. That beautiful old  brick wall just adds charm.
Patty Beck's wonderful display, she works with ceramics. making them and making things like chimes, wall hangings. I own a beautiful heart wall hanging she made.
This is want I would love to do over. Went to the hospital for the scan.  Two attempts for the IV. The tech says, this is going to feel warm when the dye goes in. I say , it is hurting. Tech says, "I told you it would be a warm feeling." I say, "it's hurting , not warm. "  They blew out my vein and the dye  is in my arm....which became swollen and did hurt till I did some ice at home. I called the drs. office , they said it would be fine, just ice or warm compresses. I am not so happy today. I will ask for some one else if I have to do that dye test again. I know things like this happens. But I told the tech the iv hurt, he said my veins just were not cooperating. I have never had problems before. Ever.
Thank you, for all the caring comments. I do appreciate all of you so much.  XO

  1. I am so very sorry. It seems that the tech would have listened to you and perhaps asked someone else to try. I don't blame you for being frustrated. Saying a prayer for you.

  3. I hope your arm gets better soon, but that can take a while to go down. I blew one when I had surgery years ago and its not fun at all. I wish the tech would have listened to you.
Hope you have a better day today...and the tests come back ok. Praying for you, always.

  5. I have had some techs like that and I would have just loved to give them a smack. They pay no attention when you say stop. Hang in there Susie!
I would love to visit Hortons. They have such unique things.

  8. Good Morning Susie, I would be chewing on somebody's ear about what happened. It should have never been done that way. They should have tried to find another vein. I realize at times they are hard to find, but there is a way. I have watched it to many times. You hit a nerve with your post. I have been there with it happening to hubby. I love all of the pictures that you post from Horton's. It is a beautiful day here with the sun shining and the 65 degree temperatures. Hugs and Prayers coming your way and hopefully you won't have to have another scan. If you do, don't let the same person do it. Make a scene if you have to do. You have rights. Take care. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.

I have also been on blood thinners for about 7 years but, luckily, have never had any problems. Hope they get it sorted out..Happy Wednesday..Judy

by the way, thank you for the birthday wishes for Nel. She is 33 years old today, and it seems like just yesterday that I was holding her in my arms.

    1. Thank you so much Susie. That would be so scary. I am not going to pay for a dye scan when I didn't get one either. LOL. I do feel better today. I was abit upset because yesterday morning I felt fine and after all that happened, this morning I was hurting all over. So I took two tylenals and went for a good walk with my sister. It truly helped. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  14. So did they finally get the scan? I'd hate for you to have to go through that again. Daddy had stents in heart and it was on chart and they started MRI and he told them he was felt like he was burning. They had not even read his chart. He was not even supposed to have an MRI. I tell you I've been in the medical field and there's alot that goes on that could be negligence. Hope you feel better soon.

    1. Yes, I got the scan but it was not a dye scan like the dr. ordered....so I am not paying for a dye scan either. That makes me so sad for your father. See how we trust them and they hurt us at times. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  15. I hate it when the tech has an attitude...you know when you are hurting and they should have paid attention. I hope you get some relief from the swelling with the ice compresses.
Looks like Hortons is my kind of place.

  16. They usually have problems starting an IV on me. This time for surgery the nrse got it first try. I told her she was good and that I didn't want to tell her usually they call the anesthesiologist in to find the vein. When I had my CT scan before the surgery the tech was really rude. Grumpy. I handed her my glasses as I laid on the table. She looked at me like I was treating her like a slave. Then she did the dye. I had to hold my arm straight up during the pictures. I moved it slightly because I couldn't hold it up that long. She scolded me and told me that I made it move and she had to readjust. Then when I was finished I had trouble get up from the table. She never offered me her arm. I actually had to reach for it. Usualy everyone helps you get off and on the table. She was a grump. Luckily all the people involved with the surgery we so very kind. Now if the lab techs would get my biopsies done. Good luck. Don't let one jerk get you down. Ask for another person. They are supposed to be helping us. Hope your arm is getting better.

    1. Debby, You are so right. If we are there for tests, we are not at our best. We need their understanding. Oh and you do know some times we get senseless tests done...who knows why. Blessings for a good result to you biopsy. xoxo,Susie

  17. I feel your pain... For real. One time I was in ER and they blew out my vein-three times! I was crying, my Mom came in and took a tissue, spit on it and started wiping blood off of my arm, watch, BP cuff.... It was awful. Then when I had surgery-twice they hurt me w the IV. Now i avoid IV's like the plague. I refuse them when I can and I did not have a hysterectomy because I was afraid of the IV! This is the first time I've said that publicly. Poor you. I really do feel you pain. You'll be ok.... In a couple of weeks. The bruising will get worse before better.

    1. Cindy, That is the strange thing...the bruising looks mild and the arm swelling went down ..but oh boy my bicep is sore. I think it's scary when some one can do the IV's right. Hoping we do not have to have any more. xoxo,Susie
      p.s. Going to Horton's tomorrow.

  18. Ouchie....hope that is not a sign of what Obamacare will be like when it really kicks in with care. Bed side manners sounds like it was lacking.

    1. That Obamacare may be a joke. who knows... I feel that all work places should have provided insurance at discounts os employees could have some coverage. I also know that my mom used to only get 32 hours at her K-Mart job so they would have to give many benefits. I say if people can't be nice , please don't be teachers or nurses or even work for the public. xoxo,Susie

    1. Tammy, That is the odd part...I am in good health. The trace of blood in my urine may have been from by blood thinner, Warferin. So I am sure these test are just to make money for the hospital. That happens. We shall see. I call my "new" Dr. tomorrow. Blessings and thank you honey for the prayers. xoxo, Susie
