A Gift & A Visitor.....

This is the magazine/book that I won at a give away that Kris  of Junk Chic Cottage had last week. I got this in the mail today. Thank you Kris !! It has many decorating and crafting ideas for the home. I am going to  love reading  this.
Then a little hummingbird came by to check out the new feeder. The container part is made of glass. I like that for easier cleaning. Plus is has perches for him to sit and enjoy his meal.
Today I had to have a small filling. So I went to the dentist 20 minutes early and got right in a chair. How good was that?? Thankfully it's over and everything looks good for a while.
Today's weather has been heavenly. I hope all of you are having a good Monday.  XO

    1. Nellie, I was on pins and needles as usual..i was happy ot get it over with and get in a bit early. So far. it feels okay. I love the hummingbirds too. They are aggressive with each other over the feeder, as tiny as they are. LOL. I really like this magazine. When I get finished with magazine, I may cut something out once in a while...but I usually share them with my daughters. They love it. xoxo,Susie

    1. Diane, So glad you did get to go hiking. Did I tell you, Emma saw where you posted her card for you...she was thrilled. You know I love my dentist, a great guy...but the less I see of him the better. LOL. We aren't understanding the cavity thing...he says it has to do with dry mouth from my meds. Bummer. You should see the assortment of brushes and paste that I have, plus extra floride paste, flosses. I go way beyond the normal to save my teeth. xoxo,Susie

  5. SUSIE,
THIS PRECIOUS HUMMINGBIRD! I think you know that it's my beloved bird. I had a red bird feeder like this, but didn't get any hummingbirds coming around, so I just let nature bring them in, and saw a few in my back yard. I see many of them at the park though. The HOME magazine looks like a great one filled with crafts and decorating ideas. What a nice giveaway gift.

    love,
    ~Sheri

by the way, thanks for your words on my post today about Jess' Master degree. It was an exciting day for us all.

    1. Sheri, I knew you would love seeing the hummingbird sitting there. If you grow any form of trumpet flowers and red flowers , that attracts them. This feeder has a moat built in the top...to keep ants from getting in the feeder. I have seen the finches drinking water from this moat. The birdbath is next to the finches' feeder....but they still drink from the top of the hummingbird feeder. xoxo,Susie

    1. Ann, Once we had a camper and a lady at the camp ground had many feeders and red flowers . There would be as many as 10 hummingbirds flying around fighting . I was almost afraid to get to close.LOL. xoxo,Susie

  7. I think I may have to purchase that magazine!
I make my own sugar water for my hummingbirds and they love it. No red dye in it. Boil some water, almost cool and then pour 1 cup of water in a measuring cup and add 1/4 cup white sugar. Dissolve and when cool, put into the feeder. It's so easy and much better for the little guys. I make it weekly...they love it!

    1. Deb, I keep saying I am going to make my own food for them...but this new stuff is already made up. I actually have a recipe for the food in a cookbook I bought at the Earth festival once. I'll have to do a post on that. It also has the famous chocolate gravy recipe. Nana Diana knows about that gravy. :) I hope you can find that magazine...I can't find it in our small town. Maybe at a book store? Blessings, xoxo,Susie
