Painting On A Quiet Day....

I thought I would try my hand at watercolors again. This is what I painted after lunch. I have this wonderful photo reference book. It's boats, marinas and water scenes.
If you are thinking , what  orangy skies and water...here's the photo I copied. My painting isn't as dark.  I also did a craft painting today. I was going to go to town, but decided to stay home and do something I wanted to do. You know besides the laundry, sweeping and cleaning of the kitchen..which I did , also. I'll show my craft tomorrow. I'll probably paint another coat on this little work of art. LOL
Today is the most wonderful quiet day ever. I was on the porch writing and I thought how absolutely quiet is seemed. No noise of traffic from the highway 2 miles off. No wind. No machine noises. Just the sound of the water features we have here. Sitting out in the sun  and watching butterflies. Oh yes, this is good. Hope you are having a great day. XO

    1. Jo, Thank you so much. I do like to go by the schools and hear the children playing and laughing. Since our Catholic school closed, can't hear that sweet sound any longer. It was the only school in a regular neighborhood. The kids all go to the school at the south end of town. So sad , how some things change. Hope your weekend is a great one , xoxo,Susie

    1. Thank you Debby. It felt great to do a painting, even if it wasn't a big one or special one. I just have to do something .No Debby, I don't want to clean my closets. LOL. I want to have fun. :):) I love hearing children have fun, don't you. When they are playing, like all your grands did this summer. Blessings dear friend, xoxo,Susie

  6. It sounds very pleasant and I believe that it is important to do just what feels lovely every day. The watercolor is a very pretty orange...I like it better than the photo...it is softer.

  7. I really like that!. Right now I am listening to planes taking off and landing at the airport (where else?). They must have changed the flight patterns. Ah for some peace and quiet.

    1. Boston Boy, I love watching planes and hearing trains...but that is not something I would want to see or hear everyday. If they flights have changed then you know it from the noise, I am sure. That's like when I lived in town and the train went right by the road next to my house. The time the grains cars would load up at Cargills, was much more train noise. Been thinking about you and your sister. Hope all went well. xoxo,Susie
