What's Blooming....

This is one of my coneflowers. It is a big one and almost perfect at this moment.
This is one of the black-eyed susans.  They are doing well , except for two of my flower beds, they have a fungus. I am going to buy some spray for that today.
These are the mums that have bloomed out this past week.  Plenty of little buds on them too.
I love mums of all colors....but my favorite are the reddish colored ones . I have some nice orange colors that I bought from the neighbor boy when he was raising money for his Alpha trip to D.C.   Just a  few years ago. That young man will be 15 this Oct.  My grandson Skylar, is 15 also, that's how I can remember the neighbor boy's age. LOL
Hope all of you have a great day. We are to, possibly ,have showers or thunderstorms.  XO

  1. Good morning, Susie! Don't you just love the late summer flowers! I have not been able to find mums that are hardy to my area, but the black eyed susans and coneflowers are doing great. I do wonder why the black eyed susans spread like crazy and the coneflowers are so stingy with their propagation. I need more of them in my garden - and they're so beautiful! We're expecting thunderstorms late afternoon. I need to get the raspberries picked again before then.

    1. Maybe the cone flowers seeds get eaten by the birds to quickly. I really do not know. But I too think they are a pretty flower. Mmmm, raspberries. Something so sweet to eat. Even a few on cereal or ice cream is a big treat. Hope you get them done before big rain. Blessings for a wonderful day, xoxo,Susie

    1. Sylvia, I think mums are super hardy...so I wonder what could be happening with yours. I hope you don't give up on them. My sister tries to grow them in containers....I keep telling her they have to be in the ground as the winter freezing can kill their roots in pots.. I have done potted ones on the porch for the Fall season just for color...I know they are going to die, so I do not spend big money on a porch plant. Blessings to you honey, xoxo,Susie

  3. That is a great picture of the coneflower, Susie. I like the red mums too. For some reason, red flowers really get me, I love them. You definitely have a talent for growing flowers.

    Have a good weekend.

    1. Sheri, I am laughing and thanking you about the talent for growing flowers. Truly they have to be hardy or they don't have much of a chance. I am not one who's out in the gardens and beds every day.
I try to remember to water things. that's about it for taking good care. But I am glad you like my flowers. This year the red petunias I planted sure have drawn the hummingbirds in to the feeder. Those little birds love the color red. Blessings for a wonderful weekend, xoxo,Susie

    1. June, I always wanted black eyed susan when I was growing up. We were such a mob, that a flower never had a chance at our house. I remember picking dandelions and violets for our mom. Just to be giving her some flowers. Funny, I think every kids picks those dandelions for their moms. I wish I had all your beautiful pink flowers, I love them. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Joanne, I know it takes the coneflower a couple years or so to seed themselves. But I had one plant and it's about three times it's size now. I should pull some of the seed heads this fall and plant them around, just to see if they will grow. Enjoy the weekend, xoxo,Susie
