It Is Autumn....

My mums have gone crazy. They are pretty but so tall they fall over when watered.
This is last years mantle display.  I'll show this years some time soon. I have been working on some décor around here. Inside and out.  I like for our porch to be decorated and need to get a couple nice plants to complete it. Maybe a pumpkin or two. I never make Jack-o-lanterns, that way the pumpkins can be for Halloween and Thanksgiving.
There are many festivals going on at this time of year.  We have the Earth Day Festival in the little town south of  here. Also you know Horton's is having their Autumn Market this weekend. That is where I am going today. Got to look around. Might get my plants there today.
Hope all of you have a wonderful, enjoyable weekend. XO

  4. I don't do Halloween either. I do the whole FALL thing to keep from having to do two different holidays. I sure I wish I were going to Horton's.

    1. Truly Halloween is almost going over board...that's so the decoration company can sell stuff. I find Halloween too ghouly and garish. There's ahouse in the next town north...they go all out for Halloween and it's almost Christmas before they take that junk down. Yuck.LOL Oh I know, I am bad. LOL... I do the seasons when it comes to decorating...and maybe a little Christmas mixed in the winter theme. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  11. I thank you for nice comments on my blog. Yup it is Fall. Northern New England is at it's peak. There are a few yellow leaves around here but that's it. In a few weeks I'll go to the Mt. Auburn Cemetery (Google it) It is one spectacular place especially in the fall.

    1. Nellie, My neighbor reads the farmer's almanac and he says we are to have two more winter's just like last winter. I truly hope not. We lost some things through that rough time. So maybe you mum were effected. I have a yucca plant that never flowers. Hope you have a great weekend, xoxo,Susie

  15. Susie, my Asters have done the same thing. They are so tall! I wanted to tie them up so they won't keep falling over, but they are totally covered in bees. Not willing to get in there. We are suppose to get some colder weather so maybe the bees will leave. Have a fun weekend!

    1. Jann, I let the bees have the flowers, especially the sedum. I am thinking of putting some kind of fencing around the mums to help hold them up next year. I cut them back in late winter. I hope we have an early frost to kill of some of the bugs. xoxo,Susie
