Sunset & Sierra......

This is yesterday's  sunset. It was a cold day, but the wind had  died down a bit.  That was nice. I am so thankful the sun did shine all day.We are to start getting ice and snow this afternoon. Not looking forward to that.
Here's my granddaughter, Sierra. She has been living back home with her parents for a few months to get back on her feet. Her lease was up in Florida and she thought she did not want to pay that much rent again. To live in a safe community the rent is higher. So she has lined up different areas, for job opportunities and living . She will be moving back to Florida this week. She has lived there for four years . She says she can't take this Indiana cold any more. LOL. Neither can I.   She will be in my prayers to be safe getting back to her friends. When I think of all those days , she and I would color and draw.....makes me a bit sad. We have to let them grow their own wings, I guess.
Hope we all can survive this cold , snowy, icy, windy winter. LOL Take care on the roads. XO

  1. She's a lovely young lady. I'm wishing her the very best. We love living in FL but don't live on the coast so the prices aren't as bad. Enjoy your day sweet friend! Hugs, Diane

    1. Diane, Sierra will be with friends, till her new lease is signed. She says she can not live in any seedy parts of towns...for safety sake. That helps us back here that will worry for her. I just keep her in my prayers at all times. Hope you are having good weather...that is what Sierra wants, bless her heart. Take care I love you new hike. xoxo,Susie

  2. Beautiful girl, I sure understand what she means about winter. We don't get nearly as cold here in Georgia as you do and yet I sometimes find even that is too cold.

    1. I laughed at my g.daugher because she said she was freezing when it was 50 degrees. To me that is nice weather. Stay warm there. I am worried for the ice that is headed our way. xoxo,Susie

  5. Sierra is beautiful and I love her spunk!. I can definitely identify with the sadness of just thinking of a child of mine moving away.

It has finally warmed up here. 30 degrees!

  6. Happy Sunday Susie. Yep it is so so cold. I guess our winter is finally here to stay for a few months ughhh! I am heading down to Florida in a few weeks to help my mom move out of her home into a senior apartment so it will feel good to get out of the cold up here for a little while. Your granddaughter is gorgeous. Hope she finds affordable living with a great job.

    1. Hi Kris, We are icing up here a bit right now. it's 8:00 pm. That will be great for you to have a trip to Florida at this time of year. I hope your Mother like her new home. My sister has a nice senior citizen's apartment, I like that they have certain rules, no kids living there. A clean laundry area. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  7. Such a pretty girl. My daughter was just like her but she went to Colorado after one year of college. All alone at 19. Well, she is still there with her family. I hope the storm doesn't hit you too hard. It said it was in Indiana right now. Not crazy about the ice coming this way. Stay warm.

    1. Debby, My granddaughter has always loved Florida...from the family vacations they used to take. She lived there for those years after school...but came home when her high dollar lease was up. She will work hard, but every penny was going toward rent and car expenses. So she came home and worked up some money to go back and start again. She has many friends there...so that is a comfort. I hope you don't get the ice. It is slick here already. I would rather have snow than ice. Be safe. xoxo,Susie

  11. Susie,
Your granddaughter, Sierra, is so pretty. She looks like a model. I hope her journey back to Florida is a safe and pleasant one. I have a few blog friends from Florida. Yes, it's hard to get into a new place in a good area. It seems like they are all taken. Jess had the hardest time finding a nice place, but she finally did.

Have a blessed week, dear Susie.

by the way, that sunset is so lovely.

  13. She is very pretty. There's no place to get a sunset shot like that around here. Maybe when it warms up I'll get a shot of the sunrise over part of Boston. There is a pretty clear shot down by the river. As long as I don't get run over.

  15. Prayers for Sierra as she heads back to Florida. Kind of wish I was going with her. Smart girl for liking warmer weather. I hope you didn't get the ice yesterday. We stayed just warm enough for it to be an inch of rain. Grateful for all miracles thrown my way.

    1. Tete, Thank you for the prayers. Yes, I too wish I had gone with Sierra. We got some ice on sun/mon. not too much...but I saw the power and light fellows driving the roads looking for down wires. The sun was out a bit and warmed up enough to melt, but things refroze. Still not as bad as it could have been. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
