What I Bought....

Went to the Hobby-Lobby store yesterday. This is all I bought.  Fake flowers, at half price. I'll use them in some spring decorating.
I was going to buy some chalkboard paint. It was 15 dollars for a quart. I thought that was a lot of paint to use  before it would dry up in the can. So I chose these vinyl chalkboard labels instead of paint. I can make tags of them or stick them on jars. They came in a few different edgings. I chose plain.
Went to Kohl's. Well I had that big 30 % off coupon. I got this taupe/charcoal hoodie sweater and a taupe turtle neck top.  Together they were originally priced at  62 dollars. They were on sale and with my coupon, I only paid $20.66 . Deal !!
From the Kohl's store we went to Goodwill. Ted bought 20 dollars worth of candles, to use in his fire starters.  I did ask to have one new candle for myself. :):) I was very interested in a set of nice dishes. I may have to go by myself to look at dishes. As Ted is not into that. LOL. He won't look at the book section either.   I was tired from all the walking around we did and it was time for lunch , so we went to Bob Evans. Always some good food there.
Today is another cloudy day. I have to pick up my cholesterol meds in town. That will be a quick trip. I do not like to be in the drugstores at this coughing, sneezing, snotty nose time of the year. I will use hand sanitizer as soon as I get in my car and wash my hands once I am home.  My daughters call me a germ-a-phobe...well it pays to be .  Enjoy this day XO

  1. I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday. I bought some fake roses and some home decor they had on sale. I was disappointed they did not have any craft supplies on sale.

    1. Hi Susan, It must be that time of year for the Hobby-Lobby....because there were no craft supplies on sale in Kokomo either. I did see stamps on sale. None of the craft paints were on sale. I did see they have some chalky paints there now. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Diane, There's pump sanitizer at the pharmacy in town. I am not touching that thing.LOL. I like the wipes at Walmart. I am going to put some of those vinyl stick on chalktags on some jars that used to have candles in them. Once the jars are cleaned and polished up ...they have that seal on the lid...you could store candy , coffee, or tea in them. Sweet. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  3. I love those chalkboard labels, what a neat idea.
Seems like a lot of the stores are low on inventory, I'm wondering if it's due to the container back-up at the docks ?
    Be well !

    1. Jo, I must have been under a rock...I did not know of dock back ups. But I would not be surprised. I have seen the docks In California before. So much stuff. I am going to be using those tags soon. I'll post how well I like them. Blessings for a great weekend. xoxo,Susie

  9. Love all your finds- you did good! I would love some of those labels, so need to check at walmart. Our Hobby Lobbys are an hour away either way we go and too much for me. I understand about making another trip alone...thankfully, Craig likes what I like or humors me. He never remarks about how much something is, either. Hubsters can really put a dent in shopping fun.

  11. I'm sort of a germophobe myself. Judy is sick as a dog with some virus. Her doctor asked her where she'd been, and she said Walmart. He said: "Well, enough said." Pays to be careful.

    1. Brenda, I am thinking I don't want to be out in crowds as bad as some of these illnesses sound. People are complaining of coughing for weeks on end Take care of yourself...you have not had a very good year. I know you've had some tough days. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  12. I am not a germ-o-phobe. If I were, I could never work where I do. Some of those library books are very dirty. We take alcohol and clean them if we have time. Most of the time we don't. If we cleaned every book that would be all we would be doing all day every day. We get about 1,000 people in the library each day.

We do not have Hobby Lobby here. In fact, we do not have any craft stores. I usually get my things at Dollar Tree. The yarn and fabric I get at Wal-Mart because that is the only place to get them. I don't go to Wal-Mart very often because I do not like it.

We are getting ready for our snow storm tomorrow morning. Of course it is my Saturday to work. At least it isn't far from home and the buses run pretty good even on weekends.

    Take care, Susie.

    1. Kathy Just be sure to wash your hand with sanitizer every chance you get. I know libraries are full of germs and people will go there even sick. I saw where some nasty weather is east of here. Take care going out in it. xoxo,Susie

  14. Hey the sun is shining right now! Quick, go soak it up because it won't last long! Sounds like you were in my stomping ground! Did you know we now have two Goodwill stores? We do. The new one is on the West side of town on Sycamore Street. I buy Valspar chalkboard paint at Lowe's and keep it inside. It lasts for a few years. Have you seen those colored ball jars? JoAnn Fab has quite a few of them for $2.99 ea (use your coupon!) Those flowers would be cute in the colored ball jars. Oh, and the Goodwill shopping...I never spend enough to use my coupon either!

  16. Oh, these young kids, Susie. They don't realize we're older and have to protect ourselves from sickness. I really like the shirt and sweater that you bought from Kohl's. I was just thinking of going to Kohl's today. I love Hobby Lobby too. I find goodies there every time. Those chalkboard labels are so cool. And your pink flowers are going to look very nice this spring.
