Spring Trees...

I love these beautiful flowering trees.  Some call this a magnolia tree.
This little house has always looked wonderful with it's two big flowering trees....but this year, I see they have had some damage and lost many branches. So sad.
Walking paths in the park. The park crew has mowed and kept our park so clean.
This is the park also. Nice green grass, lots of the older trees have been trimmed.
This is our willow tree behind the shop/garage. It always greens up first.
I love this apricot tree of our neighbors.  In line behind it are  apple trees, they have not bloomed yet.  Years ago, my mom would drive through out our town looking at all the flowering trees, then she would want one of each. LOL.  She had the best lilacs in town for many years.  Hope it is looking like spring for you.
Rain today, a good day to get our bird seed supplies. Hope your day is nice. XO

  3. beautiful! i know a magnolia tree as tall, shaped like a christmas tree with branches all the way to the ground, very thick, the smell overpowering and delicious. but that may just be a southern magnolia. both my parents and grandparents had them in the front yard.

    1. I know the southern magnolia does not look like these....that is why I have always called these pink trees ,tulip trees. I actually wish I could have a southern magnolia..my gosh you can decorate like crazy with those shiny leaves. LOL. You know what you are saying about the smell....anything that has big blossoms when they start to fade...do not smell so very good. When my Liz had one of the trees in her old back yard it actually stunk while all the blooms were rotting on the ground. Hope you are doing well, xoxo,Susie

  6. Oh, I'm just like your mother and have to get out and drive around just to feast my eyes on all the flowering trees. I love them! I just wish they could stay in bloom a while longer. Our lilacs have just started blooming, too. One of the sweetest fragrances around! Happy Thursday to you, Susie!

    1. Cheryl, Smelling lilacs on a breeze takes me back to my youth. So many good memories. Growing up at mommy's house with all those lilacs. Plus good thoughts of my girls safe in bed as I have my Saturday coffee and smelling the lilacs from my neighbor's yard. I hope you get to enjoy your lilacs this season. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

  7. It's funny how the magnolia tree and the wrought iron on the porch in your first picture looks a lot like the magnolia tree and wrought iron on my front porch. It however is not quite ready to bloom yet as you might of heard we had an unusual winter. Actually it was an unusual February with 9 feet of snow and all. I'll send you a picture and any news that I hear about Beth.

    1. Mildred, I hope your lilac does well. There's nothing like the fragrance of lilacs through an open window. Better than any air fresheners. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo,Susie
p.s. hope your cats are well.

  9. We love to feed our birds, too. Love this beautiful place to spend time and see the seasons change. AND...you were right! I looked up the Yearling movie and it was filmed in our town...about 25 miles from the house I posted today. Isn't that something? You are so smart! Hugs, Diane

  13. Such pretty trees!! My neighbor has a magnolia tree but it doesn't look anything like YOURS! Both are pretty!
Our pecan trees are leafing out and that's the last tree in our neighborhood to do so. I told Louis Dean tonight that our street looks SO much prettier when the trees have leaves!!

    1. Linda, I know you have those big southern magnolias with the shiny leaves. I would dearly love one of those...oh my gosh, I sound like my mother.LOL...she wanted every kind of flowering tree there was.. I think some of our trees just look nicer with leaves...Like the sycamore, their leaves are about the size of a dinner plate. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

  15. Oh Susie, your mom liked the flowering trees too! - I bet that's where you get your love for flowers. The flowering trees make me smile also. That pink magnolia tree is beautiful. I really admire the parks in your area, how kept up they are. We have to give credit to the park crew, don't we? Thanks for sharing your town trees, Susie. They really do tell me that spring is here.

    love, ~Sheri
