This Week's Bits.....

On our way to Kokomo , to the Meijer's Store. To pick up free cholesterol meds. That's  one way to get people into the stores. I thought it was a beautiful day and the corn is turning.
Same day(Thursday) , back in our town heading to Marsh. ...just in time for a train to roll thru. Ted says, "Oh that darn train!" I say, "I love the trains." LOL I know of others who love train also. This is the train that went by my house in town, that I miss so much.
Now this I do not love...so sorry for those that do....but I call this, "Ok for your backyard, but not mine". LOL
This is what I really love. Sunshine !!!
I am showing this pepper plant for Louise of  "Cards4ubylouise" ....She asked about my garden. LOL
This is the tomato plant , and folks that is the extent of my gardening. :):)
The rose bush produced this last rose. I thought it needed to be picked and enjoyed in the house.
So I put it with some daisy like flowers...mums? I bought this as a mum, but it appears to be like a daisy. I put them in a Dixie cup of water, then into this metal pitcher.
On a sad note . My children's dear uncle Johnny , pictured here with my daughter Karen , passed away this week.  He was what I would call an everyday Joe.....the kind of man that our great country has many , many of in our population. The kind that worked a factory job for  30 plus years .  He raised a family.  He loved fishing and visiting family and friends.  Never bothered a soul, gave everyone a fair chance. We will miss him.
Still holding the victims of the hurricanes in my thoughts and prayers. XO

  1. What a nice post, Susie. We have fields of those wind turbines here, too. Not pretty for me, either!

I am sorry about your uncle Johnny. He sounds like a good soul.

Happy Sunday- just getting ready to hit the road here and then I will be away from blogging again for a bit. xo Diana

  2. I love to watch trains. I use to see them a lot when I lived near New Mexico. Some of my family love them so much that they have those scaled trains. I really hate those ugly windmills. They have ruined the view of so much of the west and kill the birds. xoxo Su

    1. The reason I do not like the wind turbins is they ruin the views of our horizons. Big, ugly and intrusive. I do not mind solar panels...as they are lower and can be put on top of buildings. Blessings to you, hope your new week is great. xoxo, Susie

  3. So sorry about Uncle Johnny. You wrote a very nice tribute.

I enjoyed your pics, it's what I look at every day here in Michigan. The fields, trains, country roads...it's beautiful!

    Have a great week, Susie!

    1. Blondie, thank you...Johnny called me three weeks ago to tell me he had cancer in his brain and lungs . He told me he love me and my girls, that made me feel he truly did. I will miss that sweet fellow, even though we only got to see each other once every year or two. We always sent cards. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. I like the trians with grafitti art on them but thenget tired of waiting on them to go by. The wind things? Eeh, I agree with you. Not pretty.
Peppers are a fun plant to grow. I can never get a garden to produce except for eggplants.

    1. Lisa, I love the trains and when I see the graffiti I wonder why?? Such a waste of talent and paint. The wind turbines spoil the views . I prefer solar panels to help create power. I have had very little experience with vegetable gardening. I can grow more...but I am not that interested in that much work. The container plants are just right. LOL Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie

  5. The kind of man that this great country has many, many of...someone hard working and kind to everyone.
Lovely remembrance of your dear friend!
None of your photos show up for me except the flowers in the vase, so I am thankful for that one.
God bless you, my friend! xx

  8. What a nice visit I had here with you this evening! I am about to go to bed and thought I would stop in and see how you were doing. Louis Dean just asked me what I was doing and I said, "Visiting with Susie Q!" He said to tell you Hi!
It's hard to lose loved ones. I'm at the age where I have already lost some. Ruth Ann was here yesterday and her family was small. Just Ruth Ann and Ellen and their parents, Ruby Nell and Jerl. Now all are gone but Ruth Ann.

I like seeing the things YOU see! Wishing you a good week!!
    Love and prayers!

    1. Linda, Tell LD hello for me . You both are keeping busy . I am so very happy Ruth Ann has you, LD , and all your family for her family now. I always feel badly for people who are truly alone. I think some times that is why retirement is hard for me....there's always been plenty of family, friends and co-workers around ...Now a lot of times I am alone. I wish all of you a great new week also. Today was decent, hasn't rained yet. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  11. So sorry to hear about Uncle Johnny. He sounds like a nice man and all the relatives liked him. Susie, I love those daisies. I don't think they're mums cause my post for tomorrow will be about mums and they look different. Oh, you had to stop for that train, but so glad you did cause you got to listen to that wonderful sound of the train. I didn't know your home was by the railroad tracks when you lived in town. Your last rose from your garden is a beauty. I'm glad you brought it inside to enjoy it.

Have a nice September week, Susie.

LOL I know you love trains and I am glad you do. That last rose was just perfect. Blessings to you, love you, xoxo, Susie

    1. Missy, Thank you for the condolences. We always could hear the train in our town. I think it still goes thru because of the Cargill grain bins at the east of town. Grain hauling. I still love to hear the whistle about 2 miles away from here. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  14. I'm sorry you've lost this good man too. I was just thinking today about all the people that work hard and try to do their best and be fair to others. I think there are more people like that than they report on in the news. Hugs!

    1. Diane, I bet you are right about all the good men out there...I am kind of sick of hearing about all the bad stuff on the news. LOL We need more news of the average working man. I pray you stay safe there, another storm brewing . Even those reports get me un-nerved. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  15. I'm right there with you on the TRAIN! Lifelong love, kindled and nurtured by the six-o'clock stop right down the block, where I'd go down and climb the neighbors' tree to get a good view into the dining car and passenger cars.

And GLORY BE!! My birthday present last month was Amtrak tickets for a Thanksgiving trip to NYC to see the chillun and new little GRAND! Lifelong dream come true.

    1. Rachel, What a grand birthday gift. When I was 10 my class went aboard a passenger train just as a looky see...it was aboard walk thru the dining car and back off...I have always dream of eating on the train. LOL. My daughters and I caught the train out of South Bend for a shopping excursion in Chicago one year...that was fun. But to go see your new grand and in New York..wowwee. I loved that you climb a tree for a better look. We kids used to play on the tracks(dumb)..our big brother showed us how to lay your ear on the track and listen for a rumble of trains coming. LO. Mom would have killed us. LOL Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  16. I enjoyed your photos. Particularly the tomato plants. My parents always had a vegetable garden. My parents had one and there isn't a more delicious tomato sauce when made from tomatoes from the garden.
You live in a totally different world than I do. Viva la difference!
