Pretty Busy Weekend....

Oh please mommy, more cake.  Birthday cake that is . Luke had his birthday party on Saturday. Turned one.   He played in his cake and cried , cause he was all sticky. :):)
Here he  is  with a cousin and his mommy unwrapping gifts.  It was dinosaur themed.  Max and Layla look on and others play. Lynzie's living room doubles as a play room.
Liz (Gigi) holding sweet birthday boy and he goes to sleep.  I still can not believe a whole year has passed.  I like keeping them little as long as I can. LOL

These pictures are not in order....so sorry. This was Friday morning's sunrise.  Making me think, "Red sky in morning, sailor take warning."  I could not help but run out in pj's to get this picture...the skies change so quickly.
Later I caught the little Eastern Bluebird on the hook holding the finch feeder. There's been a pair of bluebirds here for at least a week now. Oh happy day, I hope they stay. I have seen them going in one of the bird houses, but I thought the wrens had taken over the two bluebird houses we have...may have to make more.
On Friday evening Savannah and her friend Charity went to prom and hung out with a whole group of kids that did not have dates. What ?? All that money to hang with pals and flip water bottles. LOL   I saw that on Savannah snap chat.  I thought she would at least dance with her brother , Skylar. I guess that was a big no.
Here's Skylar and his little sweetheart Maisy.  Skylar drove to prom but did not take his sister and  her friends along....so Karen and Jeff (my daughter and her husband )  hauled the girls around. :):)
It doesn't seem like the children should be going to proms...my life has taken wing...it is flying past.  I just want to hold them a little longer.
So far this week, we have had gray days and rain. But I know it will be nicer tomorrow. So maybe I can think of buying some plants.  Hope all of you are doing well and enjoying better weather. XO

    1. Jo, If only was could convey to those young teens how very fortunate they are, good strong body and good health..the world before them. All too soon they will be working for a living and having families of their own. In the mean time, I am going to hug them every chance I get. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. BJ, I think the girls thought it would be fun to get all dressed up...but once they got to the prom , I think they were kind of bored. They seemed glad it was over. LOL. Skylar danced with his girlfriend. I bet Savannah did not get photos of that for her mom. Oh our sweet baby Luke. When he cries it just breaks my heart. I can remember being so busy my own had to cry a bit...but I just can't seem to let the grands cry long at all. LOL. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  5. Beautiful moments in life captured on that camera. Your son and his date look amazing. The two girls are beautiful and no, it is not 'cool' to dance with your brother at prom. LOL!

    1. Carol, I think you are so right..no dancing with brother...heck not even riding to the prom with him. I think Savannah and Charity just thought it would be fun to get all dressed up. I think they became bored once they were all sitting around at prom. Silly. Hoping they all live and learn. I would have danced with all my girlfriends if it had been me. LOL Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Missy, I can remember holding Luke shortly after he was born. He has grown and still a sweet baby to me. I was shocked that Savannah was going to prom. But glad they all went and had fun. I think you should be getting nice weather soon. The sun came out at lunch today and it is so pretty. Sweaters and jackets are needed, but it 's nice. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  10. Happy Birthday to precious Luke! I love this picture of Liz holding him. She's a pretty lady. What a gorgeous sunrise. I can see why you ran out in your pj's to take the picture. The kids look so nice dressed up for the Prom. Charity's dress is so elegant, and I like the off-the-shoulder look. I remember my Prom well. I wore a PEACH dress - that color was very IN back then. ; )

A happy rest of the week to you, Susie.

    love, ~Sheri

    1. Thank you Sheri. My Lizzy is a good mommy and loves being a grandmother. I always thought I would want a satin dress in the peach color. Charity always has bright red lipstick , so wearing a red dress made sense for her. Savannah even wore more make-up than usual to prom. They had fun. Blessings, xoxo, love, Susie

  12. Oh, Susie! How can Luke be one year old already! And how can those babies be going to prom? They grow up way too fast! I was just praying this morning for my older grands and how I wish I could be more of a part of their lives. Perhaps this summer. I used to do MiMi Camps for them when they were little.....

    1. Linda, I had the weepy blues a bit this weekend...thinking of Karen's children going to prom, knowing they will be gone from home in a few short years. Plus I want Luke to be little to hold for many more years. I have watched your babies grow up on your blog too. God bless the children, and give us older folks the strength to let the children grow up. Blessings to you and yours, love you, xoxo, Susie

  17. Hi Susie: All the prom girls look so pretty but times have changed. I can remember we would have been devastated to not have a date. The first birthday is a fun time when they eat cake, mostly for the first time. I agree, why can't they stay small. Our kids are OK to grow up, but not our grands!!!..Happy Wednesday..xxoJudy

  20. I think it's kind of neat that the girls didn't let not having dates stand in their way of prom. We never would have dared. Boy, they grow up fast. Snug those babies close -- they'll be at prom before you know it!

  21. Such a precious photo of Luke with Gigi. I never went to prom when I was in school and I think it would have been great fun to get all dressed up! Love seeing these photos you have shared. We've had so much rain this week. Makes the days seem long/dreary when we can't get outdoors. I wish you a good night. xo

    1. Thank you Mildred. My daughter loves her little grandkids ..but then so does her mommy(me). I have never worn a formal dress, but many a long skirted dress. Remember those fashionable long dresses from the 70's. Some of the rainy days do seem endless. We have had sun today. :) Blessings, xoxo, Susie
