Getting Ready....

The farmer who farms across the road, is done planting. This was him prepping the field for planting. So dusty. There 's a tractor and disc in this dust cloud.
You can not see the tractor or disc. See why I have to wait to wash windows ?  But it is all planted now and the rains that are in the forecast will knock the dust down, thankfully.
I painted some things yellow...but fear it is too bright. I will go with it for awhile anyways.
Painted the bench and tops of these two tables gray. But I have decided to paint the table to the left all gray.
Painted the bird houses and a tin car. The cream color was from last year.  I moved the begonia to another spot.
Ted finally got the brick walkways trimmed out. We trimmed the pines trees and some parts of our neighbor's tree, that get in the neighbor's  way while mowing. The neighbor was happy about that.
Here's the porch this morning. The skies were cloudy almost the entire day. I would love a couple of sunny pleasant days in a row. LOL.
Last night's sunset. I thought it looked very lavender. Love that.
Hope all of you are getting ready for the end of school year, graduations, and vacations.  We have a few  family member's graduating , plus the neighbor boy...who was not yet five when we moved here. Time seems to have won out. The children grew up. Some times it can seem a hundred years ago...and others it seems just last week. Time plays with us.  Enjoy your weekend. XO

    1. Louise, The farmers around here have planted all their beans, they do that first. Then it will be the corn fields. Thank you for the compliment on the painted furniture. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. I love your bright yellow! Everything is loking so pretty at your place!
Yes, this is a busy time of year for families with children at home. Summer is spending a few days at Amber'a and they sent me videos and Facetime and Marco Polo. Kailey lost her second tooth! She pulled both of them herself!
I'm sitting in the front room with the windows open. I can see the campfire burning beyond the deck. The wind chimes are making some beautiful light music and the night sounds fill the air - even over the big shop fan we have out here - it's turned on low.
Your 'grand babies' are growing up so fast.....and you have great grands now - right? Are Max and Luke GG's?

  6. Everything looks so neat and green. I grew up "out in the country" and dust was a major complaint of my mom's. Dust from the roads (we did not have a paved road) and dust from the fields. Good for you repainting things. -Jenn

    1. Jenn, So glad you understand about the dust out in the country. Gee, I thought it was bad in town. LOL. When the farmers spray, I make sure my windows are closed. I bet by the time I finish painting my porch things they will weigh a ton. :) Blessings to you honey, hope all is well. xoxo, Susie

  9. We no longer have fields right next to us so I haven't a clue what the farmers are doing around here. I suspect they aren't planting right now because it's rained for a whole week!
Love yellow and I think the table is pretty. I have a few things that need painted....you interested? ;-)

    1. Doris, We had so many rainy days that put the farmers behind on planting, that I was really surprised at the amount of dust raised. I really do like painting if I don't have to do any prep other than putting down newspapers. LOL. Blessings to you and your sweet family, xoxo, Susie

  10. I like the bright yellow on your porch. It looks good against the gray. I have never encountered anything with farmers and had no idea that dust could be a problem when they are planting. Hope that is over with soon. Congratulations to all the graduates! It's a busy time of year for sure.

    1. Kathy, I thought the cream, light gray would work with the bright yellow. With the cream I didn't paint over that ...it was last years color. :):) Thank you for the congrats to our family members. I am excited for the neighbor kid also...he will be going away ...I think his mom will be sad...I will have to check on here every so often. Blessings to you and Joe, xoxo,Susie

  11. I also like the bright yellow...such a nice pop of color!! Life in farm country is always interesting!! We are having a retaining wall built at Grimmwood and I have enjoyed seeing the progress. We plan to go there next weekend so I can inspect it in person!!

    1. Hi Arlene, Get some pictures of that wall, as I am not sure what you mean. Seems every farmer in our area ran those drainage pipes...hope they don't squawk if the county decides to tax for clearing the ditches. There was a howling a few years back about the dredging of drain ditches. Always something honey. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
