Fun Times With Children....

This is my daughter Liz reading with the her grandsons Max and Luke. The boys really love books.
I am not sure if  they are getting up from or lying down to a nap.
Ted and I took  Mark , Lynzie, and the boys to lunch at Red Lobster., on Thursday.  This is Ted, Max, and Mark, on one side of the table.  Mark said , "We try not to take the boys to eat out, because they are babies and just not ready." Yikes, papaw and I did not know that. So we did pretty well I thought.  Truth is bring some pudding cups, or fruit cups...Let little ones eat things you know they love as they are too excited to eat right. LOL
Lynzie and I are corralling Luke. Lynz brought along some gold fish and raisins for the boys to nibble on till served food.  Lynzie is our granddaughter . Boys were too stirred up to eat and so that was not really a pleasant experience for their parents. As long as they were not screaming or crying, I was okay. LOL They did not do any of that. But once Max made a whiny  sound when he dropped a crayon. Mark and I both said we did not like that sound either. :)Then  Lynzie said , "I love it I hear it all the time." LOL Mark said it was his ringtone. I love their humor.
One of Luke's shoes fell off his foot , I picked it up....can you believe this cute shoe?
I begged Lynzie to let me have the little shark shoes after Luke grows out of them. I want them for my kid shoes collection. The saddle shoes once belong to Lynzie's big brother.  :)
Friday morning it was raining and had rained in the evening also. I always join my daughter Angie for the Pork Fest in Tipton. We are having rain this morning also. Flood warnings posted.
Since it rained I just went to Angie's for lunch. She had the little wooden pins out. I made all my daughters and their children these years ago. The one that says Maddie, was my mother's.
So instead of pork chops, pork burgers , or pork b-b-q , We had these tuna flavors along with salad. I did the lemon pepper flavor and Angie had buffalo flavor. I really like the taste. I may buy some of these for quick lunches.  We sat and talked about all that is going on in town , her job, and all the festivals(being rained out). We did not get to walk thru all the crafts and the art tents. But all in all it was just right. Fun time visiting, looking thru pictures and laughing.
I am praying today and tomorrow, that our state does not flood. Hope all of you are safe and well. XO

  1. Very cool shoe and cutie pie boys! Oh, do I remember those years long ago taking toddlers out to eat, or anywhere but they did eventually become civilized!

I haven't watched the news, is there a danger of flooding? I hope not. Be safe!

    1. Dewena, It's the aftermath of Gordon coming up thru the plains states and then thru the Midwest. I have a basement and flood warnings worry me to death. LOL.
I know one day the little ones will be pleasant eaters and enjoyable to dine with. LOL At least I hope so. :) Hope you are doing well and enjoying the ends of summer. Bless you, xoxo, Susie

  2. I'm not sure how much most kids these days like books. Half of them have iPads, makes me wonder sometimes.

    1. Adam, The age of technology is ruining many things. Magazine, newspapers and books. But there's truly nothing as nice as holding books, looking at the pages over and over. I know children will learn ipads soon enough. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  3. I worry about kids and books and so glad your guys love them. I'm hoping Baby Grands love them too. I'm not big on tech. and kids. But boy, what a great fun with them. Look at those sweet shoes -- can you remember your feet being that small?

Hoping you don't have floods and such and a good rest-of weekend!

    1. Thank you for visiting. I like to see books and puzzles all over the floors at my little guys house. They each can do puzzles at this young age. Thank you for the good wishes of no flooding. It is still raining. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  5. Looking at Max and Luke in that crib - they don't look the least bit sleepy LOL Those shoes are too cute. I had duck shoes and Santa shoes, etc. for my youngest. The tornado warnings are popping up just to the west of us in Harrison County thanks to tropical storm Gordon. Be safe and have a nice Sunday. xoxo

    1. Karen, I do not like storm warnings. I worry all the time when we had flood warnings out. It's been a rough weekend and very wet. But the AC has not come today. :) Oh I do not think those boys could have been napping either. Luke had a small set of cymbals in his hands. LOL. They do keep Lynzie hopping now that Luke can walk and Max loves the outdoors. Blessings to you Karen, stay safe. xoxo, Susie

    1. Diane, I am thanking the Lord this morning. The heavier rains let up early and it is all heading out. I can not believe how long it rained steady here. Pretty much rained out the Pork Fest. Now we have to worry about the East coast. I think my daughter Kathy truly has my features but Liz and Angie having my coloring. :) Karen is all her dad. LOL. She and Liz are the twins. Blessings for a sweet Sunday there. xoxo, Susie

  7. hi there Susie!--I just love that lemon pepper tuna and eat it all the time! Love it for lunches with crackers. Love all those adorable little classic children's shoes you have there, so so sweet! Sure don't see little kids in cute saddle oxfords any more and I just loved them! also don't see classic white baby shoes, the first walking shoes, remember those? Dont think they even make them anymore.....? I had all our children's bronzed and I do so treasure them. Little high top solid sole white leather shoes with ties, no velcroe. I always put "lace locks" on theirs to keep them tied and also jingle bells on them. Hope your weather is good, down here we are sure keeping a watch on that hurricane out in the ocean.

    1. Debbi, I do remember white baby shoes...I know some were Wee Walkers. One pair of these Mary Janes I have are Buster Browns. I love that you bronzed your children's shoes. All of ours had to be passed down to the next toddler. LOL. Mom would even split the toes so they could wear them longer. :) You are absolutely in my thoughts and prayers, once I heard of the other storm...praying it stays away for our coast.Stay safe please. Blessings to all, xoxo, Susie

  8. I am glad you had such a nice time with the littles. Those shoes are too adorable. Max and Luke are right at that age like our granddaughter Charlotte. Sometimes it goes really well in the restaurants and sometimes not so great. We bring lots of things to keep her occupied too. Have a great weekend.

  9. A little shoe collection, how precious! I hope you get those adorable shoes to add to your collection.
Your great grandsons are so cute. How nice to spend time out to eat with their family...I don't usually mind little ones antics =)
It's raining here and our ground is so saturated that flooding could be an issue once again. I'm a bit tired of rain! Now after hot humid 90's weather, a high of 60 today, maybe. How crazy is that?!!

    1. Doris, If the little guys squirm , I am ok...I do not like to hear any shrill screams from anyone when I want to eat. That even goes for my husband. LOL. Praying you do not get any more flooding. I was just telling my husband about how bad it was around your area. It's cooler here and I thank God for not flooding my basement. Our 50th Pork Festival pretty much got rained out.Now we need to pray for the coast line with another big storm brewing. Blessings to you, stay safe. xoxo, Susie

    1. Pilar, You are too kind. Thank you. Liz always wants to watch the babies and play with them, so she's good grandmother. Funny, after I got home and thought that all Angie and I kind of planned did not work out, because of the rain. It was good, because it's not where you are or what you eat, it's who you love being with that counts. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  11. Ha I had to laugh about brining the kids to the restaurant. They are busy and don't like to sit and visit the way we do but it's good for them to learn how to behave in a restaurant setting. I know from experience as well haha but it sure looks as if everyone had a great time. How cute is your shoe collection and I agree with you, that little dinosaur shoe is adorable and would make a fine addition to your collection.
    Have a great week!!

    1. Saimi, You are right, there was teaching moments. Once when Max whined, I said Don't do that, tell mommy to get it for you. We are hoping with patience, they learn. But they are 20 months and 14 months...babies yet. They do learn, soon or later...since I am old, I am hoping it's sooner. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  13. Susie, that is so special that you have a kids shoe collection from when the kids were small, even your grandchildren. I remember those saddle shoes, loved them. I made Francesca a small corner with a cabinet, which I'll fill it with books soon. Those are the cutest shoes that Luke has. This is the second blog post I read today where there are flood warnings in their area. Is this unusual to have storms and raining during the end of the Summer? The wooden pins are treasures, especially the one that was your mothers.

I am sending good wishes that there is no flooding in your state, Susie. Have a wonderful week. : )

    1. Sheri, The little corner you make for Francesca will be a fun spot for her and her new cousin, when they visit. You can have a shoe collection with the girls shoes. :) We usually have fall rains, but this was from the hurricane Gordon coming into the Gulf . The remnants usually come up north. Please pray for the East coast. Sheri, I am so grateful that we never flooded here, but I saw high waters a town over. Blessings, love you, xoxo, Susie

  15. It's always touch and go with the little ones and you do all the right things to keep them occupied and entertained and still ... sometimes nothing works. Looks like you all did great and yummy to Red Lobster. Those kids in the bed are so cute and lovable and the shoes are really cute. You are amazing to think of having a shoe collection!! I hope you don't get flooded out. We've had all kinds of rain and flood warnings, but so far, so good. And our lake is filling up. Very thankful. It is our water supply.

    1. Nonnie, I know that children are taught, the boys parents do take time for a teaching moment when they are acting out. :) We were fortunate and did not flood, but all waterways around are at their peaks. I am praying for our East coast. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
