As February Ends.....

We had one of the windiest weekends ever.  Cold too. But thankfully no snow with the winds. Gust up to 60 mph.  It started Saturday evening and continued into Monday morning.  I went out for a sunset photo Saturday.  I liked the way the clouds were rolling.
Enlarged this shot because I heard geese honking. Only little spots in my photo. LOL
Just a tiny bit more enlarged. I think they hook trying to get around one another. Just kidding.  :):)
Four years ago this week , my brother Mark passed away.  I miss him, always funny.
Four years ago this week, my first great grandchild was born.  Taking some of the pain of losing my brother away. Layla is four year old and so wonderful.  She's been sick and could not have her planned party, that was scheduled for Sunday.  But her mom said she got up yesterday  and said, "Mommy, I looked out the window and the sun is shining and the birds are saying, "Good morning, good morning Layla.",  Oh that squeezes my heart.
This is sil Matt, Teddy Bear, and Heath(Ted's son)...on one of their fishing trips , wearing goofy t-shirts my daughter makes for them.  Yesterday,Ted saw the bone marrow transplant dr.  He was told that they are waiting for an OK from medicare.  He told much about Bone marrow transplants . First of all, Ted's siblings are too old. Dr. Tandra said they will go to the bone marrow registry for a donor.  Saying younger bone marrow will work much better.  So we wait. But come next Monday , Ted will be seeing Dr. Birhiray , his oncologist, I am almost positive he will admit Ted for his chemo.  Some times waiting is so stressful.  Please keep praying for us. I am so very grateful for each prayer and your well wishes. Thank you so much. XO
Before I go Please visit Lavender Dreamer ...for some unknown reason her blog has been removed and she can not get information as to why this has happened.  I hope she can get her blog , her photos, her daily diary back. Thank you blog family.

  6. Still praying!
We had intense wind Sunday night and Monday. We are surrounded by trees and high wind makes me nervous. Thankfully the trees stayed where they belong :)
    Have a great day!

    1. Dewena, Just knowing you have Ted's name on your cabinets makes me smile. I truly want to thank you for every prayer. We have another rough month or two ahead of us. I have been weary to the point of tears many times. But I have to do this to the best of my ability..well maybe better. LOL. I have always thought of myself as a tough person, but this is a true test. Layla did celebrate her birthday with four candles on a donuts along with her cousins Max and Luke. So funny. Blessings to you my friend, xoxo, Susie

  18. Praying as they make decisions re: bone marrow, etc. For my brother who has leukemia, all of us siblings were tested. We are all in our 70's or me late 60's. My other brother is a perfect match, and I am the next in line. My sister wasn't a match at all. Not sure why! Anyway, we don't know if it will come to that or not. He has to stay in remission to do it I guess, and right now he's not again. Praying for you all. Your Layla is beautiful. And she has a beautiful heart. So sweet.

    1. Hi Pamela, I have a sister by that name and we call her Pam or Pammy. I am praying for your brother and your family . The bone marrow dr told Mic and Ted , "Why would I take parts from a car with 150 thousand miles on it and put them on a car with 200 thousand miles ." Of course Mic and Ted laughed. But then he explained the need for a younger marrow...it would take easier and do more good. We will be calling their office today to see if it's a go for Ted. I thank you so much for your prayers. We all need each other and prayers are a way of helping one another. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
p.s. Ted is 67 and mic is 60

    1. Diana, My granddaughter and Ted just left to go to the bone marrow clinic(hospital complex)
They are getting blood from Ted to go to the registry for a donor. Dr B and Dr. Tandra talked about Ted being in remission from the 1st chemo and his numbers are way up, so they think doing the transplant soon would be the right treatment. I am astounded. Relieved . I am sitting here waiting for the roofing fellow to come check our roof and possibly patch a few places and schedule a new roof. I just do not want one right now if I can get by. The high winds from the weekend tore some shingles off. I will let you know what all happens...pray for the transplant only if it can be. Blessings and thank you for all your sweet prayers and kind words. ,xoxo, love you, Susie

    1. Thank you Debbie, so much. There's times when I think I will lose my mind...I have to keep praying. Some days it's all so overwhelming. Ted's in good spirits still and growing stronger each day. Nothing for the transplant or chemo has been set on paper. Just lots of dr talk...which makes me nuts. They think we travel by helicopter and camp in the parking lot. :) Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, love you always, Susie

    1. Thank you BJ. I surely appreciate each pray and well wish. This week has produced some almost conflicting news about the chemo. The bone marrow people want to do the chemo before the transplant. I wish there was one clinic that could do everything, so we could be with the same drs. I am calling it a clinic..it's actually a huge complex that has many buildings for different illnesses. It's father away and I do not drive around Indy. Please keep praying for us. Bless your heart, xoxo, love, Susie
