It's Cooler....

This is our clematis at it's best. This one is my mom's all time favorite color.
The hostas are looking okay. This used to be one hosta and I cut the root ball into five sections so I could surround this tree.
I love these lilies, so why haven't I bought more or divided this one. to make more? LOL
Pachysandra, what can I tell you about this amazingly hardy plant. We have lived out here in farm country for 14 years....I bought a flat of this plant when we lived in town and had it growing everywhere in that yard . So I dug some up to bring out here and have enough for twenty flats or more. I have given some to my daughters and neighbors.  It's the plant with the yellow flowers.
We have had some of the hottest weather lately, it rained yesterday evening and now the humidity has dropped. It will be pleasant the next few days. Hooray.
Ted had a Dr.'s appointment today. His labs were good, but a bit lower on his platelets from the maintenance chemo he had on the 8th thru the 12th. The dr lowered some of his meds. and stopped one. Next week another med will be stopped also.  Eighteen more days till that big 100 day mark.  Praying Ted will not have any graft verses host disease. One of the thing that could happen from a bone marrow transplant. Please keep him in your good thoughts and prayers. Thank you and Bless you. XO

    1. Hi Connie, I was thinking of you and Steve yesterday as we sat in the waiting room at the clinic, so I said a little prayer. I saw a couple of really young people at the clinic too that made me say a prayer for them.
I haven't done much in the yard for about 3 weeks, too hot to go out. The plants loved all the rain , then the heat. Blessings to you and Steve, keeping you in my prayers. xoxo, love, Susie

  3. I hope these 18 days go by quickly for ya'll and I just know there will be good news!!! Oh my gosh, that is a GORGEOUS purple clematis.....ive tried two or 3 years growing them and NO LUCK....ZERO. And I love them so much especially that shade of PURPLE! Will you take some close up pictures for me please? thanks! What do you do to get it to flourish like that!!?? it's awful hot here but I do see quite a few neighbors with them growing so it's not the heat.

    1. Thank you Debbi, for the good wishes. Ted was happy about cutting back on some meds, as they can raise the B.P. I think clematises love the heat but not direct all day sun. Mine gets morning dappled sun, full on noon sun and shade late in the afternoon. It's on the east side of the house. It's the best flowering one I have ever had. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  5. Your mother would love the Purple clematis, Susie. It's beautiful, and my favorite color too! The yellow flat plants look great planted there. Wow, I didn't know you lived out in the country for 14 years. Sounds like a wonderful way of living, Susie. Yes, Ted is always in my prayers, and you as well, dear friend.

It's really hot today, and I sure wish we had some of your rain. : )

    1. Sheri, We need a bit of rain even after all the flooded fields this spring. Once the 80-90 degree weather gets here with humidity we need the rain for the lawns and crops. The farmers planted late , so fields did not even get planted. Harvest may run into winter. Our lilies and the clematis gave us some pretty flowers this year. Sheri, we thank you for your prayers, they mean so much to us and are truly helping us to stay positive too . God has brought us this far and I know he is still with us always. Bless you sweet young lady, love you, xoxo, Susie

I need to run the weed whacker, but I just am not into getting all dirty just yet this pretty morning. I'll do it later today then take a shower. :) I hate that you are suffering with sinus issues do to the weather . I know my sister has problems like that too. Take care of your self. 14. Praying my dear friend.
We just got over the heat wave. Sadly, the cold front and heat wave hit together causing a major storm. Our county had a terrible storm. We have a friends who lost up to 12 trees. They are uprooted. The storm hit Friday. Today is Tuesday, still over 1,000 people out of power.
So many trees are down, it really is sad to see.
On the good news, no loss of life!!
    Love, Carla

  22. Susie, Hi! Your flowers are gorgeous! Mine, not so much. That heat was so hard on all of them. Except for the marigolds, they seem to be thriving..not sure why. Guess they are hardy. We did have a reprieve the last few days, but back to the 90's now. Nothing like those 117 heat indexes we had though. Yikes.. terrible. So glad to hear Ted is improving as each day goes by. It's almost time for a new week in my planner and was writing my prayer list. You are Ted were on the top of it. Stay cool and bless you both.

I love marigolds. I had saved seeds from last year and had planned on planting them everywhere. Only got a few seeds growing. LOL. I do not like the temperatures to be over 75. That's warm enough for me. Blessings to you stay safe, xoxo, Love,Susie

    1. Debbie, It is so good to hear from you. Sorry I haven't written you. Seems I think of things while sitting in drs. offices or Ted's clinics...then never find time once I am home. Thank you so very much for the prayers. We are truly grateful for each and every one. hey do help us. I know the Lord hears them. :) It rain like non stop for weeks into months once spring came....then it seems to have stopped raining other than tiny showers here and there....so it's dry and harsh here.
Windows ten and the Geeks have pretty much put me in a bad place to blog. Can't email anyone. No email spot, no address book. Even the Geeks could not load our original email address and format. They erased hundreds of pictures...I can not find them any where. Good luck with your computer and welcome back to blogging...so many of of fun friends are still at it. Pray all is well there for you. Love you so much Debbie. You will always be my friend. xoxo, Susie
