What I Did....

I had 4 Christmas gatherings.  I did not cook a thing. LOL. I helped with clean ups. I saw all my beautiful daughters through the holidays. One was during face time, with my daughter Kathy that moved to Washington state. I did not get to see her son and his family. He was the only grandson I did not get to hug. I hugged all my grandkids and all my great grands, but Bennie ( he lives in Seattle, along with his mommy and daddy, and g,ma Kathy)

I even snuggled and played with my newest great grandson, Layne. He is 6 months old already. Just about all the new was sniffed off by the time I held him. You grandmothers know what I mean. :):)

We have been blessed with a decent winter this year ....so far. I did clear the driveway and front walks on Saturday. Then it rain the next round and melted all the snow. A good report from my dentist in December.  Saw my dr. yesterday and had labs done. Good report from my dr.  His office called today and gave me a good report from the labs.  Hot dog, I am good to go for another year.

Truly, I am blessed with a wonderful loving family and basic good health. I never take either for granted. My job is staying healthy and believe me it's full time job at my age.  Heck no, I am not telling you how many years that is. I told my neighbor, cause he flat out asked...and as I was saying it , it sounded impossible to be saying it out loud. LOL   But I will tell you what he said. He said OMG, I am 10 years younger than you and you work harder than anyone around here.  That work keeps me going. At least that is what I keep telling myself when I ache all over.

Hope all of you had a great holiday and I am praying we all have a good year. XO

    1. Linda, Mommy used to say ,"you better move while you can , or you will stiffen up and not be able to move." My mother was like a country philosopher. Miss that brave lady. You and LD stay young by always working. It is sad when I see someone way younger already broke down. Keep moving my friend. Love you and your family, Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Thank you Wanda, I think of you and Don and pray all is well. I went to senior bingo today. It's just citizens of a certain age having fun together. Played bingo , had coffee and a donut. The prize can vary from household cleaning products to gift cards, anything really. Today I won a prayer book and dish soap. :) I am trying to keep a positive attitude. I miss my sweet Ted. Hold your honey tight. Blessings, xoxo, love, Susie

    1. Hi Debbie, I usually have two hot dogs a year. I use to get one when my daughter had her 5th grade class come to her house for the end of the year picnic and I get one for 4th of July. When I think of all the hot dogs I fed my girl....so sad. Hope you guys are safe there, saw all the wet and windy forecasts. We are in for an arctic blast of cold...gee I am cold all the time. 1. Tete, It is amazing I did not cook. On Christmas day daughter Karen brought the food and left enough for me to eat for a week. She is a great cook and so loves to feed people. The new baby is her first grand. Yes, baby smells isn't all dirty diapers. LOL Stay warm my friend. Blessings to all, xoxo, Susie

  11. So glad to hear that you got a good report from your doctor and your dentist. I'm a firm believer in getting out and working around the place and doing everything I possibly can to keep everything up. I think hard work is good for us, better to have those muscles sore after a day of work than to have them quit working because you don't use them.
    Here's to a healthy year!

    1. Connie, Thank you so much. Yes, my mom used to say if you don't move when you can, you stiffen up and not be able to move. I laugh when I look around my neighborhood and never see the children(teens) helping mow, weed whack, or rake. My called teens free labor, Haha, and she kept us busy. Taught us responsibility and work ethics. My daughters had chores also. Stay healthy and strong my friend, Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. I just sent my little brother a card for his birthday and wrote in it...slow down you are catching up to us older siblings. When he calls me old lady, I ask, "Was I cussing?" cause that was what our mom did as she got older.
Yes Doris, I plan on snuggling that sweet baby boy again soon. LOL Blessings, xoxo, Susie
