Class Picnic.....

Today is when my daughter has a picnic for all the kids in her class. If they aren't in detention of any kind, all the kids come. This promise of a day of fun and food usually keeps the kids on their  best behavior . I have been helping Angie with her class picnic for many years. I do hair and nails and clean up afterwards. The girls like to get their hair braided and their nails done. A few boys want nail polish. I will polish theirs clear.:):) The kids dance, sing, play baseball or shoot hoops. Some skate or skateboard. Angie and her family,  sold  their  big house this year and are  living in a rental till they build. They have no yard where they are living......So thankfully one of the student's mom will have the picnic at her home.
Some of the kids are so pitiful, some loving and kind, some pesty. I tell everyone of them they are beautiful and should always be nice, because nice matters. I get lots of hugs when they leave. They all call me "nana" xo

  5. Nice does matter and some kids have no exposure to "nice" ever. Or kindness and you have both Susie.

  6. What a wonderful thing to do, Susie. Your daughter is wonderful to have started the tradition, too. I love that you braid hair and polish nails. xo Diana

    1. When I braided a copper haired girl's hair...I said in my best Irish accent"Oh Mrs. H. Look at this wee Irish colleen." The girl says "Oh I am Irish";):) I loved it.
