Time To Put Up Lights......

Look at this beautiful sky. This is what the weather was like yesterday. Clear sunny skies most of the day. This would be the best time to put up Christmas lights and decorations outside.  I used to do lights, but not any more.  I usually will do things that can last as winter decorations well after Christmas.
A short trip to town yesterday.  I got a lot of things done this weekend.  While at the grocery, a friend asked me to come to her florist shop and get a form about being a bell ringer for the salvation army. I will go talk with her about this. I would love to do that a few times , to help out....but I may have to have a chair near by . I have a rough time standing for long periods. Especially on concrete walks. It might work out that I could have a chair and still be a bell ringer.
  Enjoy this great day. XO

    1. Boston Boy, I laughed at your weather report with a promise of sports after. That building is our courthouse. It has the court of course, family health offices, tax office, a small museum on the first floor. I love that old building. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

  6. Good Morning, We have a cloudy day so far after yesterday when it got to 61 degrees. Almost a 40 degree drop today. My youngest grandson is going to ring the bell. He enjoys doing it. They are inside at our mall. I have enjoyed catching up with you this morning. Have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend Shirley

  7. How sweet and generous of you to be a bell ringer this season. Great cause. You know what they say every time a bell rings and angel gets her wings. You will definitely get your wings for helping and being an angel for the Salvation Army.

  9. It's a beautiful and very warm and windy day here. Our neighbor is trying to take up leaves very unsuccessfully! I always enjoy seeing the Salvations Army bell ringers outside the stores and like giving to them. A great organization.

    1. Nonnie, The best way to gather leaves is to rake into small piles and use you wheel barrow to get them ...or rake onto a tarp and drag to each pile. Some times those noisy leaf blowers take too long. I think the SA is a great organization for helping the needy. xoxo,Susie

  14. Susie,
I think that's great that you want to spend some time helping out with the Salvation Army. That's too bad that you don't put the lights up anymore. You know, for the last few years I didn't have them up either, but I couldn't wait to put them up this year at my new place.

It's Christmas time, Susie! My favorite time of year.

    love,

    1. Sheri, I think our lights took a beating out here in farmland with the wind. I have a snowman that lights up for the porch. Enjoy your lights once you get them up. I used to turn our on and drive away and then drive back to see how they looked. LOL. I hope I will be able to help bell ring one day , at least. xoxo,Susie

  15. Louis Dean LOVES the Salvation Army! They helped his family when he was a littlte boy. HE should find out how to be a bell ringer, too!! We always put something in teh kettle every single time we see one. I admire you for doing this. We don't put up any lights that require a ladder......that's a good rule!!

    1. Linda, I bet LD would be so pleasant they would want him to help ring those bells. I agree about the ladder stuff. Safer. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
