Santa Claus Is Coming To Town......

Here's is Santa and Mrs. Claus, as you see she is doing the back seat driving...LOL. This is a little display in the small town north of here. I hope they have it out again this year.
I saw an old carcass of some antique truck , on a property that the state was holding all the highway signs on. They are for the new bypass that has gone thru our area. Well , I told Ted that I would love the truck skeleton. He just laughs and says, " why the heck would you want that !!" Well...I would love it for a decorating spot. Think spring with flowers, summer with more flowers, fall with pumpkins gourds and scarecrows.. Of course winter would be lots of holiday decorating such as this old car. :):) The last time we drove by that property, the old truck was gone. Now you know someone is decorating that things as I write this. LOL.
I tuckered out yesterday, so I have a few more ornaments to put on the tree. I did lots of cleaning and decorating the house . Did laundry , ran to town and back. So my time got away. Time that most precious commodity. The thing of which we never have enough.  That is why I will count my blessings. At least I have decorations, a way to get to town, I don't have to beat my clothes on a rock to clean them.  Yikes, as I always say, I would never have been a good pioneer.
Good wishes for all of you today. XO

  2. I used to think I would have loved being a pioneer woman! I WOULD but I would also need a tougher stronger body than the one I have!
I am ablout half done with the decorating and need to kick it in high gear! That old truck shell sounds like something we both would have loved to have had! In the photo shoot Amber had - we all went ot Grapevine and they had an old car on display against a background of cedar trees alongside a railroad tracks. The car had a live Christmas tree tied to the roof on top of a Tartan blanket. Looked so vintage perfect!!!
Pace yourself, Susie!!! We are in this for the long haul!!

    1. Linda, You would make two pioneer women. LOL. I know what you mean about being strong. I am going to be working on my strength...I feel it slipping away. I have always had pride in how strong I am. I can't wait to see those pictures. It just sounds wonderful. We both can relax when it's all done, can't we?? LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  4. Oh Susie that truck sounds pretty amazing and you are so right how many cute decor things you could do with that. Maybe Santa will bring it to you and plant it on your property lol! Have a great rest of the week.

  5. They lit the tree in front of city hall last night. I was going to go and take a few pictures but it was raining, literally putting a damper on the ceremonies. I stayed in and tried to catch up on all the laundry I've been avoiding. They are lighting the big tree in Boston tonight. I would go but I don't feel like dealing with the traffic or public transportation. It will be on television somewhere I'm sure.

    1. Boston Boy, we have volunteers decorate the park with donated things. Some one has already tore some of them up. Young kids or teens that have nothing good in their own lives... I never can understand vandalism ... It is sad. I try to keep the laundry caught up,, but by golly it gets away from us at times. Wishing you a nice safe peaceful night at home. LOL. xoxo,Susie

  7. That truck is so beautiful. Wish they'd put something out like that around here. I know what you mean with the time. I'm slow as Christmas anyway and always the cow's tail when it comes to getting things done. This past year I'm even more slow. Hugs and lots of blessings, xo
