Planted & Growing....

The fields across the road have been planted with corn.  Wish that fellow  would mow his ditches more.
Ted mows our lawn at 3 inches. That helps the grass thicken and helps keep weeds out.
I spotted this little visitor through the blinds.
My emerald hosta is growing. It will take over this area.
This is a coral bell  plant. I love the colors , from green to burgundy .
This is our dwarf Japanese maple. One of my all time favorite trees.  We had a green one, I have tried to keep going for 4 years. This past winter finally killed it off.  The trees have all leafed out now . All the  perennials are growing taller. Of course we have had plenty of rain and very warm temperatures for May....in the eighties.  I am not crazy for that kind of heat. It's too soon.
Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend.  XO

  1. Spring happened so fast this year! We went from snowbanks to 80-degree heat in about a week. Love the coral bell plant.

  2. Hi Jo, Thanks for coming by. I hated the snowbanks, but I am not a big fan of hot weather. I guess I like 65-70 degrees the best.. I need to move to Hawaii. :):) I will drop by your blog to visit. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo,Susie

    1. Nellie, It seems the rain is putting some gardens behind schedule. My daughter got her family garden plant last weekend. She said she plant cantaloupe this morning. I did notice the farmers were planting corn way into the night around here. This rainy weekend will keep them out of the fields. Hope you can get your garden in before long. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Linda, I hope you make it out of the mud. We have been having rain too. Not as much as Texas. I love seeing the crops growing...but actually hate being hemmed in by corn fields , once the corn reaches it's peak till harvest. Blessings for a safe trip home. xoxo,Susie

  7. Susie, Your lawn and flowers are so pretty. I hate that you lost the one Jap. Maple. We lost a gardenia this past winter. Everyone I visit thru blogging says they skipped spring and went directly to summer temps. Hope you have a good evening. xo

    1. Mildred, I could only dream of a gardenia, I do not think they grow this far north. Maybe by Tuesday we will be back in the 60's. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Hi Cindy, Thank you Cindy. Some times it's hard to keep the lawn nice during scorching summer weather. I guess I am more like my mother than I ever thought I would be...I love flowers too. :):) Bless you, xoxo,Susie

    1. Gert, I knew you would enjoy the squirrel shot. :):) Our yard needs mowed again. It's been growing fast with all this rain and warmer temps. I used to mow the lawn in town...but Ted does it all out here. Once the little stems of bells grow on the plant they are so cute. I have a few around here. I do love the colors. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  11. You are still a bit ahead of us plant/weather wise but we are getting there. Sorry you lost your little tree...I hate when that happens.

I mow our grass at 3", too. I think it looks much more lush that way. xo Diana

  12. Here's to Ted for keeping up such a fine looking yard!! It's beautiful, Susie. You know, it's been in the 70's here. It rained one day, then got warmer again, but so far it hasn't gotten too hot. I'm not looking forward to those hot days. As I get older, the heat just wipes me out.

    love, ~Sheri
