Sister Is Moved...

My sisters , brother and his wife, and I helped Our sister Jeanie move yesterday.  This is Brenda and Jeanie, they are now neighbor's in the same apartment complex.  Every thing that was moved, every box, after box, and furniture, had to be carried down four steps. Oh my ankles are truly hurting today. I have arthritis in both. So today I am doing well to walk. First thing I thought this morning, it's true no good deed goes unpunished. LOL
Once I got back home , I had to keep moving or be down for the count. So I cleaned around my porch. Cleaned up my hummingbird feeders and hung them out. One would not stop leaking, so into the trash it went.  I will get another this week. I love watching hummingbirds. This little stepping stone was made by one of the men ,who have a booth at the farmer's market, in our town.
Wishing all a great Sunday. XO

  1. Moving is hard work, and steps, especially with arthritis, are difficult. Hope you get to feeling better. Looks like you guys had pretty weather for the move. That's a lovely stepping stone. I love to watch hummers too. Many years ago, mama had a plant called tuber rose and the hummers loved it. Wish I could find that plant again. Have a lovely day - take it easy. xo

    1. Mildred, I honestly did not realize how long I was on my feet. We had great weather for helping Jeanie. I did get my hummingbird feeder out, they are suppose to be from May to Oct. in our area. If that flower called tuber rose was tiny and red...it may be a cardinal vine. I know they love anything that is trumpet shaped. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  2. I am so glad your sister got all moved. I bet she was happy to have all the help. I hear you-when I am achy I have to keep moving or I wont' be able to move later.
Cute stepping stone-good luck with your hummers this year. We can't seem to attract them at this house for some reason. xo Diana

    1. Diana, Once I stop moving after a day of being on my feet, that is when I can barely walk...may ankles with swell and that cause pain. I wonder if wind off the bay keep hummingbirds away...I really do not know . Hey, my kid brother helped us move Jeanie. .he told her he took that first load of furniture to the nursing home. LOL. He tormented her all day. Of course it was all good laughs. I told Jeanie not to kill him till we were done. LOL. xoxo,Susie

  3. Susie, your hummingbird stone is so pretty, and I wish I could see all those hummingbirds hover around your house. Yesterday, my husband and son went to his mom's house in the mountains, and on the deck he saw about 7 hummingbirds around the feeder. It was such a sight, and his mom says that sometimes they just come right up to her face and linger for awhile and fly away. They are so pretty. If you can, please take a picture of them for me someday.

You are so kind helping your sister move and all. You must be sore today.

    love, ~Sheri

    1. Hi Joy, Some times we have to help each other. You know that old saying "many hands make light work." Being family we had some fun laughs while working. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  5. It was a family affair! I love how you all pitch in and do for each other! I hear you about the ankles. It's tough to keep going as we get a little older every year....and yet if we once just STOP....well, that would just make get going again that much harder!
I am so happy you have family close by!

    1. Linda, My kid brother helped us move Jeanie. He torment her to pieces, saying he took her first load of furniture to the nursing home ,instead of the senior apartments. I told her not to kill him till we were done. We had a fun time even though it was plenty of work. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Judy, I have learn getting old just plain stinks...if you don't work and move you hurt and you sure are going to hurt if you do move. LOL.The lifting didn't hurt near as badly as the four steps going in and out carrying Jeanie's belongings to the cars and truck. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Laurie, I was just outside and saw a ruby throated hummingbird at the feeder. I got them out just in time. I also had to get photos of my mom's lilac that I planted here. My camera is lousy for close ups...so no hummingbird pics. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

  9. I am so sorry you have arthritis in your ankles. Surprisingly, that's one place I don't hurt...and I know how you have to keep moving or stone up! Glad you all were able to help with the move. I wish I had that many sisters and brothers...maybe. I hope they don't beat you up too much...;)
