Some Sun....

The past two days have been mostly cloudy and rainy.  But when the sun comes out it's great.
My containers plants are looking like they love the rain and heat.:):)
I took this picture before the farmer got into that field. He was later than the one just across the road. You can see the woods is all green now.
Today I will go into my daughter's and talk about the class picnic. Her fifth graders will be picnicking at her house on Tuesday. I wonder if the bus will bring them. Last year they walked a good mile and a half to get to Angie's. :):)  Poor kids tongues were hanging out. LOL....not really  but they wanted to have sodas as soon as they arrived. Angie made them drink water. The soda was for later.
I usually go help with the picnic and end up braiding hair and polishing nails. The girls love it.  I won't polish boys finger nails...well yes, call me old fashioned. LOL I will give them a manicure though.
Hope your Sunday is a good one. XO

  1. The sunshine and rain is very good for our plants, just love the warmer weather. 5th grade is just the right age to pamper girls, I am sure they will enjoy the picnic!

  2. What a brave woman your daughter is to have the class picnic at her home and what a great mother you are to help out. We had sun yesterday and I loved it! Now we are back to fog and gloom.

  3. When my son was little, my sister babysat him. He was the same age as her daughter. When my niece got to the age where she'd love to have pink nailpolish on, my son would beg to be included.

So I'd pick him up at t he end of the day, and his toenails and fingernails would be bright pink. He's 24 now, and tells this story as something to brag about, to show that he's not overly concerned with gender stererotypes.

  5. I love where you live. So different from where I live though if I drive 30 or so miles west of here it completely changes.
I liked this post very much. I wish we had had a 5th grade picnic. And no I don't want my toenails painted.

  6. Hi Susie, The basket of petunias sure is pretty and full. The picnic sounds like a lot of fun; I know the children look forward to you being there. I could do nails but not hair! I'm terrible with hair!

    1. Mildred, Whenever I smell petunias I think of my MIL...so loved them and always have a big pot full on each side of her top step. I miss that beautiful woman, she was so good to me. Some times we let the girls polish each other's nails...that help when there' about 15 girls in the class. I'll get pictures of their nails and hair. :) Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  11. Hi Susie, That sounds like fun; how nice that the students get to go to the teacher's house. Not sure about the soda though-probably will hype them up.
Hope it is fun and the weather good; we are still having crummy weather here.

  16. Yeah, it's hard but I don't polish Harrison's nails nor do I put earrings on him....any more. At nearly three years of age - he knows 'girls' versus 'boys'....and that is as it should be. However, he LOVES to push the baby dolls in the toy stroller and I think that's perfectly FINE!!!!
