A Bridal Shower....

We had a bridal shower from my step-granddaughter, Margo , on Sunday.  This is the cake Angie ordered and it was nothing like she wanted...things should be really talked out. LOL. This cake was big enough for two showers. The cake was to look like the invitation , which was a strapless dress on a purple back ground. It was just a big white dress. But it worked.
Here's some friends, aunts and Margo's  mom(blonde) and one of her grandmothers.
This is one of the games...where Margo has oven mitts on and tries to guess what something is , then put it on. Bless her heart...she laughed and we laughed too. I missed a shot of  the final outfit. :):)
Here I am with 3 of my granddaughters. Lynzie her sister Emma, me and Savannah.
Here's Emma putting her shoes on and trying to blow up a balloon and pout at the same time. LOL. She was not ready to leave. We enjoy ourselves and everyone's being together one more day . It all went so fast, Angie said she felt sad afterwards.....that our family picnic and the shower were already over.
Margo is getting married on the 15th of August,  and my step-grandson Brandon is also getting married...yes on the 15th. One wedding in Cincinnati  and one near Indy.  I understand my daughters will go to the wedding of the child they helped raise. I loved both these kids and I have decided to not go to either. I will send them a nice gift....but I did not want to choose.  My granddaughters better never do this to us. After Margo marries  and her cousin Brandon, the  ones not married will be Savannah, Emma and Sierra. Then there's the boys..Jake, Brock, and Skylar.
Hope all of you are enjoying some summer weather. We are having rain....again. Looks like from the weather map it will be on and off all week again.  I am really tired of the rain and bugs. LOL.
    Take care. XO

  1. It sounds like a lot of fun at the bridal shower, regardless of how the cake looked. Yes, sometimes even drawing a diagram doesn't get us the design we want. Sending wishes for happiness for both upcoming weddings! xo Nellie

    1. Thank you for the wishes. I pray for all young people to work at their marriages...it isn't always easy...it takes "team" work. We laughed about the size of that cake....they'll be eating it all week. Angie sent some home with anyone who wanted some. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  2. What a wonderful shower..and as long as the cake tasted good-that's the important part.
That is too bad those kids are both getting married on the same day. It makes people have to pick a wedding to attend!
Those kids sure are cute, Susie. Family is really what life is all about, isn't it? xo Diana

    1. Diana, At first the children had different dates for their weddings...then Margo changed hers...broke my heart.. Her real Grandmother told me I was special to Margo, because I treated as my own. That made me feel good. :):) I do love being with my family whenever I can. Emma is growing up nd not wanting to stay over night so often any more..Sad. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. I was hoping we would do the toilet paper wedding dresses...that is too funny. It was just nice to have family and friends there wishing Margo the best. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

  4. The cake was probably good anyway, but I'm sure the one who ordered it was disappointed. I ordered a cake one time for our dil shower and the person I ordered from didn't write down the correct date for which we needed it. That was upsetting, too. Your granddaughters are all lovely. I certainly understand why you made your decision not to attend either wedding. Gee. Tough.

    1. Nonnie, I love all my grandkids very much. I heard of someone buying a cake from a supermarket and the clerk sold the sample....which was an iced sponge...not sponge cake but a sponge. Too funny. At least Angie had enough cake to send home with others. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  6. Susie,
The bridal shower sounds like lots of fun. Love the cake it was really pretty. Glad you had so much fun with your lovely family this week end.
Have fun at Horton's on Friday. I will miss it this year. I will be on babysitting duty up here for my granddaughter and their three doggies. So the three hour trip will not work out. I loved that market show and the Horton's of course. Wish I were going to make it to say Hi and meet up in person. Some day I will get down there again.
Have a wonderful time. Take lots of pics so I can swoon.

    1. Thank you Mildred. I like going to showers more now than when I was younger. We had a beautiful day Saturday (4th) and Sunday was nice also. Monday was iffy to start, but turned out nice. Today was miserable. Flooding in town south of us...because the grounds are saturated from all the rain we have had last week. Indiana farmers have lost over 400 million in crops already. I am ready for some nice weather , maybe rain one day every two weeks. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  8. I'm so sorry about the cake but it does look pretty! I'll try to remember to send you the link for cakes that were ordered and the end result was nothing like the customer wanted. Funny but sad too!

The photos are great and you look awesome with the girls! So glad everyone had such a good time. 2 weddings on the same day? I think I would probably do just what you're doing and stay home from both. :)

Thank you so much for your kind words and stopping by ~ I always appreciate you!

We had more rain today and more coming...blah, I am ready for some sunny fun days. Thankful the weekend was so very nice. Bless you , xoxo,Susie

  9. What a nice shower and fun games. Your granddaughters are all getting so big and grown up. It's hard when you have a large family to figure it all out. But I know they all love you and know you love them. Enjoy your week! Sweet hugs, Diane

    1. Diana, My babies all grew up, and trying to leave the nest. LOL. I just could not hurt my daughters or the grands by choosing which wedding to attend...this way no one is upset. Hope you are having a nice summer. So far the weekend of the 4th has been our best weather. Thank you for all your sweet hugs and kind words . Bless your heart, xoxo,Susie

    1. Judy, Some town had 3-5 inches of rain, south of here...too much when the land is already saturated. I am getting plenty tired of all this rain...my gosh the mosquitoes will take over....pretty much have...even with spray on they bother me at times. Can't sit out and enjoy the porch. Bless you dear friend, hope you are enjoying some fun. xoxo,Susie

  11. What a lovely shower---I think the cake was cute and as long as it was good...

Emma is so cute. She sounds like a precious girl. Family is the best.

Funny, my son's wedding is on the 15th (be glad you weren't invited to that, too!!!). I know how you must feel, I think I would do the same thing.

    1. Blondie, I do not think my daughter really had a clue as to how to have a shower...but it worked out fine. She found the games she played, on pinterest. If I came to your son's wedding everyone here would be mad. LOL. I truly wish him the very best. We have to pray for our young marrieds...as life can be tough at times. I always hope that some of my parents grit has been passed on to my own kids and grands.. Show us your sweet dress when you get it, please. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

  12. I absolutely LOVED getting to see YOU in one of the pictures!
I think you were wise in not choosing......that would have been my choice as well.
I may be the only one but I do NOT enjoy the showers and games. I send gifts. I occasionally attend one but not very often......
I must tell you, Susie, what a comfort and encouragment you are to me and Louis Dean. We feel like we know you and you are just like a relative to us!! I love seeing and hearing about your life and what you are doing! May God bless YOU as YOU have blessed others!

    1. Linda, Thank you. I did not want to hurt my daughters' or grands feelings. So staying home was my best choice. Linda, I feel like I have known you and LD my whole life...we must be similar in so many ways , with our thoughts and old fashioned ways. Hey, that's a good thing...stop laughing.:):) Hug each other for me. Love you, Susie
