Emma And Art.....

Emma is back in the chair with papaw. Too embarrassed to let me get a good photo of her.  I washed her hair this morning and braided it. She loves having two long braids.
This is some of her cartoon drawings. I think she is doing really well for being eleven.
This is a dog she drew. I asked her if she looks at pictures while drawing...she says some times. But most times draws after seeing a picture from memory.
She is into bears now and loves drawing them or making those clay sculptures.
She asked me to draw a picture of her. I told I would need a photograph to look at while drawing. So this is her picture she picked and my drawing.  I think my drawing looks older than she does in the photo. LOL.
It was a some fun times watching America's Got Talent and drawing pictures and making clay sculptures. Going to  D.Q. for lunch yesterday and to Bob Evans today before we took her home.  The time seemed to have gone by so quickly.
Took her to her aunt Angie's for  a short visit after lunch yesterday. Then to aunt Brenda's (my sister) . All kids used to measure themselves next to my mother, who was 5'2" , Most were taller by the time they were in 6th grade.  Emma's heads taller than my sisters. :)
Today was a beautiful pleasant day.  Hope yours was too. XO

    1. Thank you Laurie, I hope she always stays interested in art. She has her mommy long hair. I used to be almost in tears by the time got Liz"s hair combed when she was Emma's age. She had enough hair for three people. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Debbie, It has been so nice to have Emma back here with us for a couple days. I miss her already. It's those little things, Like while I would be checking blogs...she would pop in the office and hug me to see what I am doing. Or I would go she what she was drawing or possibly watching on the Disney channel. We would get hugs all day. I pray for that girl so much. I see in her face and actions that she is growing up. I could cry if I think to long on that. I hope she stills with her art...she seems to love it. Blessings, love you, Susie

    1. Thank you Mildred. That was a ten minute drawing...might be why she looked older in it. I just am impressed with Emma's little drawings. I gave her my little sketch book to take home with her picture I drew. I told to keep one in the car to draw whenever they are on the road. Please keep us posted on your nephew. xoxo,Susie

  7. What a lovely time you had together and BOTH if you are talented artists! I can't sketch worth anything! I can paint but only if I can transfer the lines using graphite paper. Love Emma's long beautiful hair. Reminds me of Logan's. Has Emma ever had her hair cut?

    1. Linda, I love that Emma wants to draw...and I think if she stays with it , she will be very good. I am impressed with her abilities now. Yes, Emma's hair been cut a couple years ago. I told her to keep her ends cut straight across as it is easier to detangle that way. I used to be in tears from head washing raising 4 daughters who wanted their hair long. It would take almost 20 minutes to get the tangles form Lizzy's hair (Emma's mom)...but I did it for them. I just pray they do not get lice at Emma's school...you know Sept is cootie month usually. LOL. Love you girl, Susie

    1. BJ, It is fun with our grands. We never see them as often as we would like...so when they are here it is important to spend that time with them. When Emma is watching her shows on Disney, then I do my blog checking. It gives us each a small break. :) But we are always hugging and laughing. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Thank you Missy, I was a bit surprised at how well she was doing in art. I felt sad when we had to take her home. It's about 50 minutes to their house but seems longer at times. Blessings for a great weekend, xoxo,Susie

  10. Susie, I can see where Emma gets her talent from. This is a wonderful picture you drew of her. Please tell her to keep drawing - by the look at these pictures, she really does have an artistic talent. The dog is comical. You know, all my kids can draw, and I don't know where they got it from because I can't draw at all. Maybe their dad haha.

    love, ~Sheri
