Hostas.....

My Emerald green hostas is in bloom. I need to split this hosta as it is getting plenty big.
These hostas under the tree used to be one big Dark green hosta. I split it into 4 and planted it around the poplar tree.
The mums are blooming out too. This is one of my favorites, the dark burgundy.
The black eyed susan is doing fine too.  I have not been in the bed to cut any bouquets because of the mosquitoes. I would have to fog them.  I will not be washing windows any time soon, because of the bugs in the flower beds.
Ted is having a birthday soon . We are going to go for a day trip. Go antiquing and out to lunch.  I have some kohl's buck I could spend on him. LOL.  There's a tool extender he is want for his weed whacker/chain saw....that will be what I get him for his gift. The man loves tools. I used too till I retired...now not so much. :):) Shh don't tell that I told this...Ted had one of those saws on his extender  before and the saw kept jamming,  and Ted threw it down and bend the dickens out of his tool extender. Hmmm??
No rain today...hooray. Hope your day is good too. XO

    1. Ted used to save all his change when we worked...he would buy tools with it. Now we count our pennies so there is no change saving.LOL. You know retirement doesn't go as far a real paycheck. Hope you are doing well Susie. That your thyroid meds are just right. xoxo,Susie

  2. I love host as, but don't have a place to put them. Too much sun. I bought some new plants today for pots and the bug drove me crazy as I was potting them. Not to mention the swear rolling into my eyes. I would welcome another rain storm or two, but thankful for what we have had.

    2. Hi Nonnie. Gardening isn't always easy when it's hot and the bugs are out. Don't worry about the space bar mishap...Some times I read something I have written and re-read before clicking...and it still looks like I am not speaking the king's English. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  4. That is too funny about Ted throwing down his tool. It sounds like something I would do. I love black-eyed susans. I should plant some.

    1. Kathy, You would not want to hear Teddy at times in the shop...He has no patience with tools that do not work right. He likes those tool extenders because you can use a small chain saw to trim limbs. :) Hope you can plant some wanted flower once you get retired and have all kinds of time to garden. Just remember once you retire you will want thinsg that are hardy...so you can do other things. LOL. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

I guess hostas do not fare well here in Texas because I don't remember ever seeing these! My black eyed susans are doing well - my first year to have these.
