Is It Summer Yet????

Yesterday evening this is how the wind was blowing, see the flag. Over the corn between the woods and the group of three trees is our town of Tipton. We are in for rain.
This is the view to the south.  It was raining with lightening just south of that long cloud.
There is a patch of blue in the west.  So I can see the sun is shining somewhere. LOL
This is the view over head. More scattered storms, rain, hail, winds, with bits of sunshine.  A major heat index today and tomorrow.  Temperature approaching 100 and the heat index well over.  So where is our summer ?   I think we may have had 15 days since May that we have not had rain or the threat of it.  With the ground saturated we are having flooding, some of which is flash flooding when there's a dumping of heavy rains in a short time.  I am praying for a dry spell.  Sad that some of this rain can't be happening in the western states.
I have to find something fun to do today.  It will be indoors. Take care if it's hot where you live, stay hydrated.  Do not over do where the temperatures are soaring.  That's my mommy advise to all of you...gaaa, I can't seem to help myself.:):) Enjoy your weekend. XO

    1. Sylvia, I was hoping after the winter we had that our spring and summer would be heavenly. You know, sitting out on the porch and digging in flowerbeds. It's toooo hot and buggy to be sitting out. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Linda, So funny, I just went ahead to town to see if my sisters would walk two blocks from their apartments to a yard sale. It was the girl's soccer team from the H.S. having a sale. We did it but I was sweating. LOL. xoxo,Susie

  5. Amazing sky photos, Susie. It sure is hot/humid here. I have to "fight" with John to keep him out of the yard/heat. I was out there this a.m. giving ice water to the guy that cuts the lawn. You and I are a lot alike!!! lol

    1. Mildred, Your husband sounds like Ted...he will work in this heat and sweat like mad...I always tell him to drink plenty of water. If I do too much in this heat, I get a headache. So I am doing laundry now. I did walk with my sisters two blocks to a yard sale ...it was the H.S. girls' soccer team sale. I always offer water to any one working around here. I do think we are alike. :):) Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  6. We've had a lot of storms this summer too, scary ones, but no tornadoes.

    1. Janet, so glad you are not having tornadoes. I worry about flooding lots. I like just a plain electrical storm...you know where you do not lose power, or have wind damage. Take care, xoxo,Susie

  7. Your weather sound much like ours, except we haven't had that hot of days. If there is rain at night, I don't mind-I just like warm days. Hope you find something fun to do today.

    1. Diane, When you said skeeters..I have to tell this. My daughter's in-laws are , well maybe a bit backwoods...they wanted to call our grandson Skylar...skeeter....why??? it's the same amount of syllables...but sounded so "red" Well when they told my daughter they were going to call her daughter Savannah...cookie....Karen came unglued. LOL. She said that is not happening. After I read Sheri post...I felt I should let my special blog family know how much they mean to me too. We should not be afraid to speak out. Bless you, oxox, Susie

  11. Susie, it is hot here and going to be even hotter next week. I am wishing for some of the rains we had earlier, but very thankful that we had them. I can see the lake is already going down, so had we not had all that rain, mew would have been in dire straits. Have a blessed week your pics are pretty, especially the one with the patch of blue.

  14. It's been raining there the past few days? That's so strange when you're getting such hot weather. But the rain is good, and so glad to hear you are getting it. I was looking at the lawns when I was driving through the older neighborhoods one day, and they are all dry and only bits of green. I do hope it rains this year, Susie.

  17. Susie, it has certainly been a crazy year! We had absolutely no snow this Winter then tons of rain in the Spring. Record high temps in June and now just nice 80's in July. Hope summer finds you soon!
