Baby Shower.....

My daughter Angie (right) was having a  baby shower for Margo(middle).   Sierra (left) helped her mother give this shower . Margo is really showing and she has 11 more weeks.  I teased about her having twins...we laughed , because when I said that she said, "No just one, I had the ultra sound. "
I don't know why, but we we forget about taking pictures at Angie's, with the windows letting too much light in for photos.  This is Sierra and I.  I was happy she came home from Tampa to help her mom and be with her sister.
Sierra brought her best friend home with her. I have written to Carolina before but never met her. They are such pretty girls.
This is part of the refreshments.  The cake was shaped like a onesie.
There was a  banner of baby socks , so darn cute.
One again too much background light.  Margo's mom and grandmother came together and brought a niece of Margo's. Margo is Angie's step daughter , but she is ours too.
There was a bunch of gifts. Angie did ask everyone to bring a child's book in place of a card.  Margo received many cute books.
Look who else came to the party...two little monkey kids.  Layla and  Max.  They were so sweet.
And Luke came too. he is rubbing Margo's  tummy, as if he knew there was a cousin in there for him to enjoy one day soon. LOL
When Lynzie got to the shower, both boys were fussy. She hurried to feed Luke, then I got to hold him, while she humored Max to settled him down...they did not finish their naps.
Sweet Savannah helped keep me company while I got Luke to sleep.  It was a great day for all of us. Margo received many things she needs and more than she will use in clothing...you know how quickly babies out grow their wee clothes.
It's getting very hot here for a few days. It's nice early in the morning hours then turns hot.  Every thing is green and  pretty. Stay cool .  XO

    1. Missy, There's gift that I have never seen before. Like a skid proof thingy that you sit the baby on in the sink to bath them when they are real tiny. :) Oh it is very hot here and getting hotter. Hope it cools down soon. Blessings to you and your pets, xoxo, Susie

I have also seen that idea, for folks to bring a children's book instead of a care, it IS a great idea!

    1. Kay, Those little socks were pretty sweet. I don't think baby even wear shoes till they are walking these days. I loved the book idea....I read to my kids and they read to their and now the grands are reading to the new little ones. You can see they are learning also...cause they point to things in the books. :) Love that. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Cindy, I am amazed at the odd things given as gifts that I had never seen. I like the book idea. I enjoyed my family time. I got to hold Luke for about 40 minutes getting him to sleep and held him while he napped.:) Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  5. Oh Susie, what a lovely baby shower. Your daughter Angie and her daughter Sierra are beautiful! You have so many blessings! I have that problem in my house with all the light, too. It's hard sometimes to get good pics because of it. Sweet little Luke. Books are now an item requested for the baby. I think it's a wonderful idea to have a little library ready for baby because mama and daddy will be busy buying diapers and bottles. Baby needs to learn to love books at an early age.

    1. Nonnie, I must remember that bad lighting. The picture would have been so much better. I am thinking of setting up a photo corner next time there's party anywhere. LOL I did love the book idea. Kids love to be read too. Max it pointing things out in the books and Layla is repeating some lines. I am glad my girls had cloth diapers...even though I washed them in the bathtub when I had no washer/ dryer. I would hate to spend all that money on diapers. :( Blessings , xoxo, Susie

  6. What a nice baby shower this is, Susie. I got some ideas for Jess' baby shower coming up. That's a great idea for the guests to bring a child's book in place of a card. That's so special. And the banner of baby socks is darling. I'm glad you had a good time, Susie. How wonderful when a little one comes into the world. : )

ps...you and Angie look so much alike, lovely ladies.

    1. Sheri, I love the book idea also. The sock banner was sweet. Angie bake a 9x13 cake and cut the edges to make it look like a onesie, then frosted it. Margo is so excited to have her baby. I pray for her. Blessings to you , love, xoxo, Susie

  7. What a sweet time together at the shower. I love the idea of the books and that banner is cute as can be.
Thanks for your comment about one year in our home. We have a tendency to stay indoors after 6 p.m. During the winter months, we can walk the dog along the nearby dirt roads in the woods....but this time of year, bears are active, so we stay close to home. God bless your day, dear friend.

    1. Mildred, I did not know there were bears around your area. You make want an air horn when walking. Please be safe. I did have fun at the shower. The best part was holding Luke while he slept. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  10. How sweet, Susie. Love the little socks banner and everyone looks so pretty and happy. What a great idea about the books. We bought so many books when Jake was little. They cost a small fortune but are so important to the little ones, I think.. Great idea. Hope you are enjoying cooler weather..xxoJudy

    1. Judy, I loved the book idea too. Because I can see where reading to Max and Layla is already making a difference. She repeats lines and Max points to things on the pages. You can see they are learning...that is what I love about when babies start growing. I love that my grandkids are reading to their little ones already. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Noreen, Margo is actually my daughter Angie's step-daughter. She has been my granddaughter since she was 5 years old. She is a sweet girl. I know her own mother lives near by Margo, so I feel relaxed knowing she will be looked after when the time comes. Margo has three grandmothers and I am one of them. :):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Hi Pilar, The shower was nice. When it's the first baby , there's so many things a young mother needs. I think Margo was almost in shock when she saw the prices of things like, diapers, wipes, etc. Angie had a game with a list of items and the prices. The one closest to the added up price won the game. I held Luke and did not play.I would never have gotten close .LOL. Hope you are enjoying your summer time. I need to check out your blog to see what you are doing. Bless you, xoxo, Susie

    2. That's wonderful that you had fun at the baby shower! I don't have children yet, but I've always hear people say you'll need this and that when I have kids lol! All the things she received will come in handy :) btw, I actually did link my post for the crock pot lasagna recipe, it's under my reply. I hope you're having a wonderful Summer Susie! Blessing to you as well my friend!
