French Market.....

Today was the first day of the French Market at Horton's. Oh it started out a beautiful day too. Venders , inside and out.
This was the wall of straw and ferns along the sidewalk...how nice, I am sure it cut down on the wind later in the day.
A cute metal container with many things inside. Mirrors mostly.
This was an outside vender's wares. A bit of everything. :) I have to go back tomorrow and look some more.

I loved the finish on this desk.
Wow, wouldn't this hold about all your sewing or crafting items. You absolutely would have to label the drawers. LOL
What a sweet little truck. Love the green  color.
Lots of wind mill blades and big clocks that were  made from wire spools.
Inside, lots of these tiny boots around the store. Just loved them.
There's my sign...junk girl...love to junk. These canisters are very nice.

This is a picture of  Donna of Tinkering and me. (she got me into blogging  in a round about way) Love this sweet lady. Is there a class in taking selfies that I could attend...gaa, I am the worst.
Finally, finally...I got to met Kris of Junk Chic Cottage!!  She is as pretty and sweet as I thought she would be. It made my day meeting her.  She drove all the way from Chicago to Tipton. She brought along  a hometown  girlfriend . We did not get to spend a lot of time together...but maybe one day or next time. Kris and Sandy were going to lunch, and my daughter had an appointment so we could not stay longer. After I got home , the clouds rolled in and it rained a monsoon kind of rain....I prayed Kris made it back to Chicago safely.
It  was a great day with my daughter and meeting dear blog friends. I loved it. I will show more pictures tomorrow.  Hope your day was good. XO

  1. I did make it back safely and it was so fun to meet up in "real life". Loved the drive with my friend and meeting with you if only a short while. We will do it again and spend a day or maybe I can coax you up Chicago way and I will take you to some of the cute places up here. Thanks so much for meeting up. We only hit a little rain coming home.
    Hugs,
    Kris

    1. Kris, I was going to text you and warn about the rain coming in and roads flooding...but your number wasn't in my phone and no history of it.nothing..I will be working on entering numbers. It would be nice to come to Chicago, but I will be with my daughter Kathy, as she is the real driver among my daughters, she has a great sense of direction. I hope it wasn't disappointing visiting our little town. I should have told you of the shops here. We had a cute second hand place...sometimes some good junk there. ;):)Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    Hugs,

    1. Kris, did you see I cropped the picture..I some times amaze myself. LOL No I never mind anyone using my pictures in good ways. The dot on my camera can snap a picture , but with newer updates, the push button will take like ten pictures in a second...I don't always like up dates. Sandy took two pictures on my phone and one had 14 copies. LOL So good to have met you in person, just totally made my day. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  3. Oh Susie, I was there when the monsoon rolled in! Those poor vendors. Tents got too heavy with rain, the wind was so strong, one vendor said her stuff was ruined....it was awful! While it was raining my friend and I pretty much had the store to ourselves! I bought some clothes and plants. Then 28&31 were closed! Flooding. We took 19 home and it was fine. Got home and we had a little over four inches of rain in no time. Pond flooded again. Let us know how everyone is today. I hope in better moods!!

    1. Cindy, I am so sorry I missed you. We had some horrible rain. The neighbor's yard flooded and part of ours. The sump pumps came on and just when that trickle of water was drying up in the basement. Blast. I want to get to Horton's today. Venders who set up outside need to remember to bring tarps to cover and side panels on those tents with weighs. I hate that it ruined some peoples wares. That makes me feel badly for them and our town. Horton's do a great serve for our community. You'll have to post about your perchases..so I can see them. You know I didn't buy a thing, but things I am considering today. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  5. I think the rain you had is heading this way.
Looks like a fun place. I would have to watch myself from buying things that I really wouldn't need. Been there done that.
I thank you for your visit as always.

    1. Boston Boy, Yikes that was over 2 inches of rain in one afternoon...the sump pumps came on and now the basement has it's little trickle of water running across the floor...gaa, how I hate that. I didn't buy anything but a coffee yesterday. :) But may go get some flowers today. LOL I have many totes of stuff in the basement now...why?? I need to have about a month long yard sale. LOL...what are you doing next week ?? haha...my daughters hate yard sales. I love reading about what you and Arlene are up to. So fun to see the videos of your trip. Blessings for a fun weekend. xoxo, Susie

  11. How cool that you got to meet up with Donna and Kris. I've never met any of my blog friends but I'm hoping to soon. Too bad that some of the vendors' things got ruined. We have had that sudden heavy rain around here the past few days. It's not fun. I'm wondering if you went back and bought anything other than a cup of coffee.

  13. Ooooo, a French market at Horton's, how nice. Is this the first time they had this, Susie? Lot of goodies on display. I like that desk and the green little truck. How exciting that you got to meet a new blog friend. I've only met one, and we lived in the same town at the time and she owned a vintage shop in town. I'd love to meet so many more.

    2. Hi Sheri, Yes, the Horton's markets are about 5 times a year. They have spring open house, French market, fall market, Christmas open house and Christmas vender's market. In the summer time there's also a peddler's market going on the same time, plus farmer's market. I love meeting Kris of Junk Chic Cottage. I am sure you've visited her blog...if not go over there , you will love it. We had tried before to meet up and things came up. I was so happy to see her. She's as sweet as I knew she would be. She's a kind person and funny. Hope Nel's b-day was fun. Today is my g.son's...he is 18 years old. Gaa, I want to cry. Blessings, xoxo, love you, Susie

    3. Happy birthday to your grandson, Susie. I hope his day was special. Nel had a fun birthday. Her husband gave her a few goodies to open and did a scavenger hunt for her to find them around the house. It was so clever. Then, she went to dinner and just had a nice relaxing day. : )
