Our Fourth ....

The two stars of our family gathering. Max and Luke.. Max is one year  and eight months.  Luke is 2 months and 10 days. They are happy boys.
Luke is smiling and trying to talk his baby talk. I love hearing him.
Max wears his hat when he goes outside...that makes me happy that his parents think of this. But he doesn't get to be out too long, with his fair skin. :):)
My daughter Karen's all time best friend Kris and Kris' husband Bob came by the picnic to see all of us and they brought their new baby Basset Hound. Max and Sophie got along well. Max is offering a drink from his sippy cup.  Too sweet.
We had 30  at the picnic. Plenty of good food and fun.  So many old stories from our childhood, new stories of the younger ones.  My little brother Steve said I was taking better care of  my great grandson Luke, than I did him when he was a baby.  I said, "just because when I rocked you to sleep , I used real rocks, you want to complain. " LOL  I was the oldest daughter and he was the family baby and I had to carry him around all the time. :):) Thank goodness we all have a good sense of humor..
Hope all of you had a great day, shared with loved ones. XO

  1. How wonderful that you had such a nice picnic and had your family there. Those little boys are just precious and look at the smiles on that baby!

You have the fair skinned grands like I do...it's a challenge to keep them from burning in the sun.

I hope you have a good week, Susie. xo Diana

ps. I bet you were a GREAT big sister.

    1. Diana, Luke's last check up, the tests showed he was not pancreatic insufficient, so he not longer(for now) has to take the enzyme meds for his digestion. Such good news. He's a chunk, so I think he will been strong enough to fight, when the time comes. I almost want to cry when I see fair skinned kids with little hair and no hat...well the same goes for golfers. LOL. Diana, I admittedly pushed some of the siblings around when I could not handle them all. LOL. I use to put Stevie ona tree limb , make him hang on and I would climb up and sit with him and we would wave at cars. Gaa, how funny. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  2. This is the cutest picture of Max and Luke. Luke looks like such a happy baby, always smiling. I love the picture of him by the chalkboard at 2 months old. That is a sweet picture of Max and the doggy. It sounds like you had a very nice fourth of July, Susie.

    Happy July days.

  3. Sounds like you had a great day. I like the pics. I liked the "rockin' to sleep" with real rocks line. I will use it at the right time. We had a quiet 4th at my sisters except for all the local fireworks. I watched a bit of the Boston Pops and promptly fell asleep. All in all a wonderful day weather wise. About 80 degrees with low humidity.

    1. Boston Boy , If you only knew how rough we were raised, you would wonder , as I do at times, "how did we not kill one another, as wild as we were at times. " Never when mommy was around though. LOL I had a long day and evening and will glad get to bed early tonight. Glad you had a family fun fourth. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Absolutely Diane. I feel at times I have way more in common with my blog family than some of my real family. LOL. But I love all my family. As hard as our lives were growing, I know the Lord blessed us...with a strong mother and hard working father. Hope your day was fun and good weather. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  6. What a sweet, sweet time you must have had with all your Lovies!! And isn't it funny the memories which will surface at such times of getting together.

I'm the older sister, too, by 12 years, and though she was sort of My Baby when she was little, we have a fabulous time together now. She'll be here end of July, and I'm really looking forward to that Sister Time.

so glad you had such a lovely Fourth!

    1. Rachel, There's 12 years between my baby brother and I and also seven siblings. There were eleven of us all together. I hope you and your sister have the best times. I have four sisters and we used to do much more together than we do now. I miss those fun times. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

    1. Noreen, Years ago, my daughter Angie wanted to start having family reunion on the 4th...for the most part if works out pretty well...it mostly depends on the weather...like if not all are in the house at the same time. 30 people would be a house full. LOL.Blessings, xoxo, Susie
