Sneak Peek.....

September the 23rd, on a Saturday, Horton's will have their Fall Market. I looked in the store to get a few photos.  I liked the colors of this display.
Such a cute sign with the bicycle.
I like this old green color on this box. Wanted the old gentleman's hat...but it was a bit pricy for wants.
Aren't these pumpkin towels the sweetest?  The pillow matches.
Now this is clever, wooden spoons painted with jack-o-lantern faces. This would certainly be a great craft to do with children.
Today I got my permanent crown . So glad that is over. I sure hope my insurance pays most of it. .Today was an easy in and out appointment at the dentist. I am so thankful.
I have noticed it is feeling more fall like in the mornings here. This morning was very foggy. Some of the flowers are looking raggedy. I try to keep them going till I have to say , "uncle", and give up. Then I will be tearing out the flowers, keeping the greenery and adding some fake flowers. LOL...I am getting lazy and decided fake is so easy with the greenery and look good too.
Hope everyone is still holding our southern friends in their hearts. Send good thoughts, prayers and even money if you can. What a bleak looking future for so many...they need us all to help. We all need each other. Bless you. XO

  3. Horton's already has a lot of Fall and Halloween goodies out. It's so fun to peek at them all, Susie. Those spoons are delightful. I'm surprised your crown was such an easy procedure, and so happy for you that it's over. Yes, I love that old green color too, it looks so vintage.

Thinking about all the people in Texas lately.

    1. Pilar, I like the cooler temps too. Those hot 80-90 degree days knock me out. Hope you are safe and doing well. I have been so worried about our weather these past few days. Texas will need all of us to help them pull thru. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  6. I'm glad your dental journey is over! I'm about to embark on mine. It won't be as painful as yours, though. Only need to have one tooth pulled and a new lower bridge and uppers. It will be expensive but not too painful.....except to my pocket book!

    1. Linda, I had the old crown drilled off on the 14th and a temporary one put on till the new crown was made. Dr. Mike put it on yesterday and it went so smoothly. I was happy and praying my insurance helps me ...it was 1040 dollars. I should have a smile like a movie star. I hope your work goes well and not cost too much. We need a break in life as we get older. Blessings, love you, xoxo, Susie

  7. I love your posts sharing Horton's, Susie!

I know you lost some connection with your computer so I'm glad to see you post!

I have an implant in the making. It's been a long road since January when I had to surgically have a tooth removed which was fractured way above the gum line. I've worn a temporary palate with a tooth since then, had a screw implanted, and I'm now waiting for bone growth to put in the final 'fake' tooth. Sheesh! No dental insurance so it's been monthly payments. I'm hanging in there.

    1. Blondie, You certainly have my sympathy for dental work. I just get too stressed when I have to go. The 14th of Aug, was the hardest day, all the prep for the new crown. The assistant is so good, that the day of the permanent crown being put on went smoothly and quick. So thankful for that. I hope I can get my computer to load my photos faster...it's ten times slower than before. Gaaa. It was not even broke till windows 10 wanted to re=fresh their program. Why fix things that work fine is what I say. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Deb< I love my dentist but hate seeing him. LOL I just seem to have lots of issues and I brush and floss plus use a decay preventative rinse. I get x-rays and cleanings twice a year. Thank goodness I have dental insurance. Bless you, xoxo, Susie

  13. It sure amazes me how crafty people are, all those crafts look so cute and festive. I've had a couple of crowns in my day and the only way I can get through the procedure is with Nitrous oxide - it completely relaxes me. I have a great dentist but boy is it hard for me to go in.
Nothing wrong with fake flowers! :)
Have a great Labor Day Weekend!!

    1. Saimi, I love seeing the clever things people can craft. I am sometimes just blown away. I swear I felt like I was "planking " in the dentist chair while they prepped for this crown. Taking off the temp and putting on the permanent crown went so smoothly...that was a relief. My husband has complimented me on a pot of flowers on the back steps...I hated telling him they were fake. LOL. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  14. All the pictures you show us of Norton's are always do fun. I'd love to visit that place. Glad your crown is on and no troubles. Harvey has caused such devastation, long term. They need our prayers and every other way we can help. It's almost unimaginable, isn't it.

    1. Judy, Some times I just go to Horton's for decorating ideas. If I find something cute and cheap I may buy it. I do buy my flowers from them. They are a wonderful Christian family and I love them being in our town.
Praying for the victims of the storms. It's going to be a long row for all of them. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie

  15. Susie, I am with you on waiting for those flowers to be pulled out because I'm ready to see some pansies. Although I must say, mine are holding out pretty good.
Enjoyed your visit to Horton's and especially the wooden sign with the bike. Pumpkin towels reminds me that I have some I can pull out now. So glad to see you got your crown on - wear it proudly!! Lol!! I know you're relieved that's over and hoping that insurance pays well.
Harvey has truly wrecked the lives of thousands. Thank God they are seeing such love poured out for them, but it will be a long haul for them.

    1. Nonnie, It's only 65 degrees today. I can see how the flowers hate the strong heat but then the chill makes them wilt also. I have enjoyed putting fake flowers into the greenery. I wish I could copy that bike sign.hehe.
The people effected by the storm will be working a long time to recover. Hope their insurance helps them. Plus the nation 's donations. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  17. Susie, Yes, we're going to tell the guests that they can bring a children's book instead of a card. I told the girls about that when I saw it on your post, and they thought that was a great idea. Me and Jess love children's books, and can you believe I still have the books that I used to read the kids when they were little? And when Jess receives some books for her shower, she can read them to her elementary students also. What a great idea, thanks for sharing it, Susie.
