Leaves And More Leaves.....

This is how the backyard looked a few days ago.  Lots of leaves falling off the maple, tulip poplars, and sycamore trees.  Well honestly three leaves from a sycamore and you have to rake , they are so big.

Saturday this maple in the back woods was about the only one with leaves . The sun made it look as if it were lit up, it glowed.
I rake leaves into to piles and then I rake them onto a tarp or old shop blanket, so I can drag them to a place to pile up.  Once the yard is all rake, we load them on the trailer and haul them to the neighbor man's woods down the road....his woods is so dense, the leaves do not blow back out.
You can see how nice the woods looked this past weekend. Lots of color. But the winds have been fierce and have stripped the trees almost completely.
  I love seeing cardinals.
Some beautiful sunsets, but very cold at this time of day.
Some leaves seem to hang on till you have cleaned the yard and then they will fall. LOL.
Monday, Ted went to get his treadmill echogram. He was winded afterwards. His heart doctor was making his rounds at  the hospital and he stopped in to check a couple things with Ted.  He did not seem to be too concerned. Told Ted to take it easy for a few days and be sure to keep his appointment on Friday. So we will know more after tomorrow.  Please keep my Teddy Bear in your good thoughts and prayers. Thank you so much.  Wishing all of you a great day. XO

  5. I’ve been praying for you every day......our Charlie had open heart surgery on Monday and is getting a pacemaker today. He’s doing well and I’m praying Ted does too! It’s scary but it is necessary to get this checked out for Ted. Please keep us posted! Love and prayers for both of you!

    1. Thank you so much Linda. I am thankful for all prayers and good wishes. Ted says he feels better...but I hear him breathing at times, like when he brought in some fire wood. So I have filled the wood box and will bring in the wood. I am glad to hear Charlie is doing well. He may feel like a new man once his heart is beating right. I am thinking Ted might be having lung issues. Blessings to all, love you, xoxo, Susie

  6. We lost most of our leaves this past week, too. They were there one day in all their glory and gone the next after a rain/wind storm came through.

Praying for Ted and for you to not worry...as I know you do.

I hope you have a blessed Thursday---and no leaves to rake today!!! xo Diana

    1. Diana, Thanks so much for the prayers. We know they have power and I truly want God's power in our lives. Oh I should never rake or worry about our lawn...but I may have some OCD when it comes to that. LOL. Ted's not mowed and I am not sure he will be allowed...find out tomorrow. I may be buying a push mower as I never have used his zero radius mower. Blessings to all of you, love you, xoxo, Susie

  7. Love seeing all of your beautiful pictures Susie, the trees are losing their leaves quickly now that the winds have picked up :(
I would have liked a couple of more weeks of color on ours, instead after such severe weather, most of them are now on the ground.
Seems like we have gone from Summer to Winter in the blink of an eye.
    Hugs,
    ~Jo

    1. Lisa, Thank you for the prayers. We are grateful. Tomorrow is the day to see the dr. I like seeing the leaves, raking somewhat. I need a new rake that's for sure. LOL. We have a leaf blower but I hate that noise. We have nine full grown trees. All drop something at one time of the year and then their leaves in the fall. We have four pine also. I remember moving here and thinking wow such pretty trees. Oh my gosh, I never thought of the work. Bless you, xoxo, Susie

    1. Thank you for your prayers Karen, it means a lot to us. Oh the color seems to have taken forever to hit the trees and then the cold and wind has made them lose their leaves very fast. I have not seen snow and I hope not to till Jan. LOL I know that is too much to hope for. Blessings, stay warm, xoxo, Susie

Today you can barely tell I did it yesterday. Maybe one more raking will do it. Blessings to you my friend, xoxo, Susie

  19. Oh yes, lots of leaves. They are all over the place. Now that was a dumb obvious statement. From what I understand we're in line for some heavy down pours later in the day. Hopefully that will take care of the rest still remaining on the trees. I thought I heard that there will be some snow in the mountains of New Hampshire. Good it can stay up there.
I'm glad that Ted is doing well and thanks for all your support.

    1. Boston Boy, The leaves fell so quickly, I never had the chance to keep up. After all that raking, the back yard is covered again. I should never run out of physical exercise. LOL. Thank you for thinking of Ted. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  20. Susie, I love seeing nature pictures around your home. That golden tree is so pretty. You have a large area in your front yard to rake up all the leaves. Would it be easier if the winds picked them up? And that red cardinal!! I didn't know you see them in your state. Susie, it is my dream to one day see the red cardinal. They are the loveliest of birds, except for the dear hummingbird. I will say a prayer for Ted and that all is ok.

Have a wonderful weekend, Susie. I took my car in today and had to wait for two hours. But my son met me for coffee, and the time went by faster. : )

I've been upset with the tragedy that happened in California. Please pray for healing for the families, would you?
