Busy Week....

I have been trying to enjoy my summer days. Although this is Ted's week of chemo maintenance. Our granddaughter Sierra has been taking Ted to his clinic appointments and giving me a rest . Bless her heart, she knows the traffic just makes me nuts. LOL
Ted's chemo has been in a shot form and given in his tummy. Which he seems to be fine with. He says it never hurts and he is still feeling better each days.  I can see a bit of energy each morning and it does my heart so much good.
Monday morning will be his Dr. appointment. The chemo may show a drop in some of his labs, like white blood cells, platelets and hemoglobin.
In a couple weeks,my granddaughter's husband Mark, will come help me with my computer. I know he is always busy, but he said he would make time to help. What a sweetheart .  I will have him help me find my pictures or at least show me how I can load from my phone.
I hope all of you are safe and enjoying some of this summer weather. There are some really hot temps on the weather maps. Yikes, I am not good in such heat. Zaps my energy, especially if I work out in it. Like when I weed whacked this week. I got a small battery powered whacker. One I can handle, but the heat and as thick as the weeds were getting, my arms still felt wore out. LOL. I turning into a cupcake, no more grit. :(
Blessings to all of you and thank you for the good wishes and prayers. XOXO

  1. Growing up in Indiana I never noticed the humidity, it was just the way summer was. Now, after living in our desert climate for so long, when I go back to Indiana the humidity hits me like a wall. It can totally zap your energy. Take it easy and pace yourself . . . you'll get that energy back when autumn arrives and your world is a blaze of color and there is a chill in the air.
I'm so happy to hear that your granddaughter and her husband (or another granddaughter's husband) are helping you out. It's wonderful to be loved my family :)
Take care . . . you and ted are both in my prayers.
    Connie :)

    1. Thank you Connie. Oh I have never like the heavy heat even as a child. But when we age...you know AC has ruined us. LOL. Now I can live without it. Blessings to you and Steve, you are in our prayers. xoxo, Susie

  2. It's so nice to have someone help with the transportation. Gives you some time to do a few things and it sounds like a few need to be done. Hang in there with the heat and as always, continued good thoughts.

    1. Thank you Jo. Ted is doing well this week. I am praying the worst of this journey is behind us. They have adjusted his meds this week also.
Oh yes, I am nt so good in this heat. But I am nbot looking forward to the storms and rain coming up from the gulf..as the weatherman is forecasting. It's hard to enjoy the outside in shade because of mosquitoes. A nice breeze can help keep them away. Blessings to you , xoxo, Susie

    1. Adam, Ted's first two rounds of chemo were week long drips. He was hospitalized for a month each time. Then he had an hour IV drip everyday for a week, as maintenance before his bone marrow transplant. Now this week's has been an injection...I too had never heard of that. But Ted like it. The side effects is he gets hiccups every once in awhile. Medicine is weird science. LOL. Blessings to you , xoxo, Susie

    1. Linda, Thank you so much for your prayers and good heart. I am so hoping the worst of this journey is behind us. Ted did so well this week. Sierra's been the best grandkid ever helping us. I am thankful to just not be in the traffic. :):) Today is Ted's last injection. Since he gets it in his tummy, he's been getting hiccups. They have adjusted some of his meds thru this week also. One of the prep meds helps the stiffness in his hands and makes his B.P. higher, so it was back on the B.P. med. Monday will be a Dr's appt. Next week, Ted will be 67 , it's his b-day. He says he has two bdays now. His original and May the 1st from the transplant. :) Blessings to you and LD. Be careful in the heat.Love you, xoxo, Susie

  8. Blessing to your family for stepping up and giving you the help you need. Traffic gets me much quicker than it once did....well, truth be told, lots of things do!! My son helps me with computer things. I'm fortunate to live in the same house as he ☺ He also helps my sister....she probably needs a new computer but limps along.
Take care in the heat! I keep telling myself that it's July and it's supposed to be hot. And humid. ☺☺

  11. It's been pretty hot here too, Susie, and doing most of my errands in the mornings. The AC is on right now. I like your little vase with the red flowers. I'm do glad to hear Ted is feeling better. That is so nice of Sierra to take him to his appointments for awhile. You have such a loving and caring family. Try not to overdo when you go outside and work. This heat zaps my energy as well. : )

Have a pleasant weekend, dear friend.

    1. Hi Sheri, I am blessed with a loving family. We try to be there for each other. Ted is in the top of the drs' group on staying well.:):) We have had some cool mornings here and I dearly love that. I am ready for the AC to be turned off and nothing but sweet breezes to cool us. Hope you are loving your summertime. Please be safe there. Every time I hear of the quakes or fires I think about my friends in California. Blessings, love you, xoxo, Susie

  13. How sweet to have a loving granddaughter to help out. I dislike TRAFFIC too! Hope this finds Ted doing well. Girl, it's so hot these days that I am afraid to even think about what my electric bill will be next month! But Oh I just can't take the heat without some MAJOR water nearby! Like the beach! LOL!
