Please Stay Summertime....

Try as I might I can not stop time. I want our summer to last longer this year, because it was forever before I could start to enjoy it.  This weekend is the "End Of Summer " days in my daughter town of Rossville.  They will have a parade, crafts, foods, and plenty of celebrating there. I used to love to go and see the grandkids on floats. LOL
I will be putting out  some fall decoration here. The leafy wreath on the door...that I got for one dollar at a yard sale. This little metal sign.
I do have marigolds that actually came up from where I had planted them last year.  Sweet !!!
Having wonderful sunsets here. Today is blue skies and puffy white clouds and low humidity ...forecast for the entire weekend. Hooray.
Ted and I went to Indy for his check up. That two weeks off went way too fast. He had great vitals. Good blood work. His blood work from 3 weeks ago , that was called "Who's who" , where they see how much of Ted bone marrow is the donor's and how much is Ted's old self.  In July it was 100 percent donor, today they had the results of that  blood test from 3 weeks ago...it was 95 percent donor and 5 percent Ted...they want to start watching closer. So Ted gets another check up in two weeks and a maintenance chemo....oh by the way the dr. said he wants it there in Indy, not in Noblesville (which is closer to us). So another week of that crazy traffic.
Ted played a round of golf this past Tuesday. He said he did not keep score but enjoyed it so much. He was with two of his golf pals.  He was a bit sore the next morning, but by the following day, he was fine. But he did say he will wait for cooler days as the heat was exhausting. He had to wear long pants, sleeves, hat and gloves....so as not to burn in the sun.
Hope all of you are doing well. Thank you for your sweet prayers and kind wishes. XO love you.

  2. Hi Susie, First of all, I am thankful that Ted got a good report and was able to golf with friends. I'm sorry you still will have the traffic to deal with. Your marigolds are very pretty. Don't you love "free" flowers that come back from seeds? I love your wreath and the metal decoration. Thankful for answered prayers and continue to pray for you both. God bless your weekend.

  3. Susie, this all sounds so good. I am delighted that your Ted feels good enough to play golf, that is incredible news. The days go by without much thought to anything but how our loved one is feeling . . . Summer this year is anything but normal . . . For the both of you as well as for us.
Your autumn decorations are so sweet; I'm still thinking about canning and hoping to get enough tomatoes and cucumbers to put some up for winter. Our garden is not doing that well this summer, maybe because I let the weeds get out of hand. LOL
Wishing and praying for the very best for you and Ted.

    1. Connie, You are in my thoughts and prayers...It has been a tough year, I know it has for you...who has enough hours in a day to do it all...pulling weeds got so far down on our lists. :( Glad you got some good veggies to can..my daughter's garden was beautiful when she planted it and she was disappointed in the growth. Blessings for peaceful moments, xoxo, love, Susie

  6. Love the wreath! No fall decorating here yet....my DIL doesn't want to see it yet ☺ We are both summer lovers and mourn it's leaving! I did put away the yellow silk roses and put out cream colored sunflowers though.
Wow, Ted went golfing! That's so good! Sorry you will need to mess with more traffic for the next appointment. I despise driving in heavy traffic!
    Take care, Susie!

Oh honey, I am wanting summer to last a couple more months. LOL. I actually remember Ted and his buddies went golfing in Jan one winter, I 'd love another of those winters too. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie

  7. How sweet that you want summer to stay. I like summer best too, but this July and August have been so terribly hot and humid, I'll have to admit I have wished for fall and cooler days. You are kidding about the wreath being one dollar, right? :) It's so pretty. So glad Ted got good news from the doctor. Glad too he enjoyed playing golf. Wish you both the very best. Love, Henny

This morning early I cleaned green beans my daughter gave me and have them on cooking. I plan on finding some time to sit on the porch. I may have to put out a salt lick for the sweat bees...so they will leave me be. LOL. Blessings to you honey, xoxo, Susie

Drove around and enjoyed the pretty skies and low humidity. My children went to the Summer's End Fest and enjoyed it very much. They sent me pics of the great grands.
I think I will sprinkle those marigold seeds along the porch edgeing to see if they return next year. :):) We only had a few days of heat index in the triple digits, while I know some place had actually temperatures in triple digits. I would be a puddle on the porch steps, if that happened here. :):) Blessings to you , xoxo, Susie
