Great Weekend....

Two weeks ago, I finished up the staining of the deck. It takes me about a whole week to do it. Too old to crawl around on my hand and knees.
This weekend, I went to Horton's to look around with my daughter and granddaughter. We did get fudge to take back home. All this fudge is make by the Horton family. So many flavors and so tasty. The Fall Market will be on the 21st of Sept. So not that far from now.  I bought a table topper cloth (can be a big dish towel. ) and some paper napkins.  Angie got a garden flag and fudge. :)
One store in town is stocking up on fall decorations.
Mums are in the garden stores too. I love seeing the colorful assortments.  Angie wants a big yellow one for her front porch steps.
Ted had a two day fishing trip with his brother and son. He enjoyed just being with them at the camp ground. He said he did catch a big fish but never got it in the boat. :)  It was good for him to have that bit of time , just doing normal things.  That is why I was out with my daughter looking at mums. I certainly enjoyed my time out. Went to lunch and laughed so much. We all needed that. Plus I got to sort a tote of crafting things for my sister-in -law. A bag of old clothing for Goodwill too.  It's a start.
Today starts Ted's week of maintenance chemo. His brother Mic took him this morning. So that gives me time to do more sorting and laundry.  Ted will get blood work and his IV drip chemo , then Tuesday , Wednesday, and Friday, it's just the IV chemo, Thursday will be the chemo and a breathing treatment. The breathing treatment is to prevent the pneumonia that bone marrow patients can get. He could have taken meds for prevention,  for 6 months, but the drs. thought the treatment would work out better. .They watch all his vitals while he is taking it.
Hope all of you had a good Labor Day weekend. Praying for everyone in the hurricane's path. Please be safe.

  2. The fudge looks yummy and now I want to buy a mum for my patio. My handyman stained my brand new trellis a couple days ago. How long do you find your stain lasts? I hope Ted has a successful time of treatments.

    1. Terra, My stain was also a sealer...it last a couple years...but the sun just really does a job on the floor boards. Well now the rain beads up on them ...so that is good. Now frost that would be a totally different story...a scary one. LOL. I made a bunch of pumpkins from old sweaters, I will use them in decorating. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. Susie, your deck looks wonderful. It sounds like a lot of work, but it sure paid off, cause it looks great! I'm so glad you brought home some fudge from Horton's. Such a Yummy selection. Oh, look at all the orange pumpkins! I know they have the white ones also out there to buy, but the orange pumpkins I really love. I haven't seen the MUMS at the stores yet. They're my favorite flower in Fall. I bet that was nice for Ted to go fishing with his son. I'm so glad to hear that you're able to do things now, Susie, like start a crafting tote for your sister-in-law. I hope Ted does well with his next treatments, and will continue prayers.

Yes, the hurricane is scary, isn't it? So much going on in our world right now.

    1. Sheri, Ted had good counts today and was so happy when he came home from clinic. God has been with us thru this , thanks to everyone's prayers too. It given us strength when we needed it. Ted's voice was scratchy when he returned home from all the talking and laughing he did. We both needed this past weekend to get some wind in our sails.
I am praying for the East coats and everyone in the hurricane's path...so scary and dangerous. Blessings to you and yours Sheri. Love you sweet friend, xoxo, Susie

  6. So glad Susie that you had such a wonderful and LAUGHTER....Oh it is so good for our souls to laugh. We need laughter for sure. Yes, those beautiful mums are everywhere now. Our local Walmart had tons of them the other day. The lady working there told me she sold the most yellow colored ones compared to the other colors. I like them all. Just never have had much luck keeping them looking pretty. I bought several for a gift though. Added some paper around the bottom with a bow and they make such cute inexpensive gifts. So glad Ted enjoyed his day as well. And I am sure it wasn't about catching a fish....but all about time being well spent. Prayers abounding for you all. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
