That's A Big Punkin.....

This is a picture of a pumpkin I took about 4 years ago. I just now thought about it. We never went by this house again, since then. I am curious if the fellow is growing them again.
The pumpkins are so big the man uses a block and tackle to load them on a trailer.  So I am saying those watermelon are about 4 times the size of one at the store.  You can tell by the size compared to the double hung bedroom windows. Maybe Ted and I need to drive by that house again soon.
This is a pumpkin I made from an old sweater, doily, and lace ribbon.  A wooden stick for the stem.
I made various sizes, using the sleeves of the sweater too.  Twine is good for making the sections.
I actually gave these little canvas pictures, that spell Boo, to my daughter.  I still have my sweet owl and the tiny white pumpkins. This month is flying by .

My tummy is doing flip-flops. I go this coming Monday and Tuesday to the eye clinic to get my cataracts fixed. I am so eager that I am nervous about it. My sister Pam, is going with me, as you are to have someone along.  She just had her cataracts removed 3 weeks ago. She did so well.

Hope all of you are staying safe and getting out to vote. We voted by mail.  We all need to wear our masks and think of others, not just ourselves.  Please. XO

    1. Oh Ginny, I am praying I will see after y surgery. I am so ready. I have had to postpone it twice once because of Ted's cancer and then the clinic did it once because of Covid..so I really need this. I remember seeing those big pumpkins in the patch and they would have wet cloths on them in the really hot sun....to keep them from getting to dry and possibly splitting. Blessings to you, stay safe, xoxo, Susie

    1. Thank you Diana.I am so eager to get this surgery done...I just want to see to drive again. I miss going by myself once in a while. LOL. I know how silly. But I hate that Ted sits in the car while I grocery shop. I would like to drive and go in the store and he can sit at home. Hope things are getting better there. Hoping John can get some news...any news...you need to know where to start. Blessings, xoxo, love you, Susie

  3. Goodness, they are really big pumpkins. I love pumpkins. He must use hormones or something to get them that big. The one you made is cute. Good luck with your surgery. I’m about due. He said two more years but I don’t think I’m gonna make it that long. I noticed my vision getting foggier. Helps to put my glasses on which I never have worn. Hugs

    1. Missy, I am so bad with my eyes...my glasses aren't helping that much. I know I have needed this for 3 to 4 years. Lights are so glaring at night...so I have not driven only under dire circumstances...like taking Ted to ER a couple times. If your dr says go...please go.. I keep hearing all the good tales of vision being improved...I am ready my friend. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

I can not even get a boxed frozen pizza in our freezer side. We have a small chest freezer too. LOL. I was amazed at the size of the melons and that huge pumpkin was shocking. I really wonder what it weighed. Blessings to you, stay safe. xoxo, love you, Susie

  17. Thos are huge pumpkins! Look a lot like the ones we see at the state fair. Maybe that's where those were going. Your sweater pumpkins are so cute! Good luck with your catarack surgery. My sister and a friend both have had it done recently and both say it wasn't bad and they did fine. I was a nervous wreck yesterday becaus of getting another injection in my spine. Isn't it always something? Thank goodness for doctors who can help us, and prayers to God to help get us through it.

I wish they would do both eyes at the same time...but they do one Monday and then the other on Tuesday. So you do not get confused about the eye drops. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

She said she has sold more this year than ever. I guess people are planning on decorating their pumpkins for Halloween and staying in. We are staying safe, wearing our masks and ready to get beyond it all. I pray your cataract surgery goes perfectly dear friend, HUGS!
