Wood Crafts....

Ted has made paper towel holders for our sale at the church bazaar. these just sit on your counter, that's why we add a pretty knob to the bar.
Ted never waste any wood. He has glued up all his bits and pieces to make these trivets. I use ours a lot.
He has made bowls , vases, and trinket dishes of all kinds. the vases do not hold water, they are for dried flowers or picture picks.
Once when he was very bored...he made these bird houses. I was amazed that he could make such tiny shingles for the roof. I keep these in the house for decorations. My Teddy Bear is a very talented wood worker. We get together and draw up plans for Christmas gifts for my sisters and our children each year. Ted will make the items and I get to help stain them.  I'll show this year's gifts much later.
Today we are in for some nasty weather. High winds and rain. If you are in this systems' path, be careful please.  Can you believe tomorrow is November ??  xo

  5. I love those paper towel holders that sit on the counter top, Susie. They are SOO handy. You are lucky that Ted is so handy. We don't have many handymen around here (unless you count what little I can do).'

It is raining here, too, today- it's a shame because of the kids wanting to Trick or Treat and it is supposed to last through the night- UGH- xo Diana

  6. Unlike you, we are having sunny and springlike weather here. Great for trick-or-treating.

I love all the woodworking your husband does. My great-grandfather and father were both carpenters. I grew up with the smell of sawdust. Wooden things make me happy and your husband's are beautiful. He is so talented.

  9. I would love to be able to work with wood. But I don't have the tools or the space. And, fabric can be stretched and manipulated when sewing, but wood doesn't give when you make a slight mistake.

  10. He is amazing, a true artist! Did he ever have his own shop? His things look like they should be sold in some famous museum's gift shop. I love those trivets!

  15. Goodness, but you are talented at your house. NOT so here. I haven't done crafts for years and years. Now I only enjoy looking at others handywork. I have a brother that does what Ted does. Makes all sorts of things out of wood..and has a complete work shop in his basement. What a great job Ted does! Goodness!! Beautiful things!

  16. Your sweet husband is so talented! He knows just what wood to use for each creation. I love the beautiful trivets with the different tones of wood and each one of the bowls is unique and beautiful. I would want to keep everything! I'm so glad I have a few of his hand made items. Give him an extra hug for me! And have a wonderful weekend! Hugs!
