Falling In Love....

Some times falling in love is instant.... This is Layla Rose, my great granddaughter. So precious. As I was getting ready to go to my sister's to drop off her birthday gift, I received a call from my daughter Liz.  She said meet me at the Steak& s Shake in Lafayette.
So here's Teddy Bear and I getting to know Layla.  This was the best lunch ever.  She's three weeks old and already at the steak/shake.  There was a copper red haired baby behind us and she was 8 weeks. old.  I do not remember ever taking my babies out in cafes or stores that young. Times change, I guess.
This is Brock(Layla's father), his sister Lynzie(Layla's aunt) and Emily (Layla's mommy).  Brock and Emily are in love and so courteous of each other, I am impressed. They seem to be relaxed with the baby. Emily is a natural mother. I wish them all the very best. I'll do whatever I can to help them .  I know my daughter Liz sure will help..
I was going to see my sister yesterday, but I can drop by today.  This was a lucky chance to see Liz and her family, plus Karen (liz's twin) came too.  We had a little lunch , talked a bit and said our goodbyes. We all left at the same time. There were seven of us and baby Layla made eight.
I hope to see the baby again before another three weeks. I was going to have dinner at Liz's house and be with all of them , when Layla was 2 weeks old, but I got sick and could not go. Now I am feeling fine.
Hope everyone has a good day ...it's the first day of spring. Cloudy and damp here.  It is spring !!!! Hugs for everyone . XO

    1. Diana, You are so kind. I was ever so thankful that Layla is healthy. Emily is nursing her so that will help with the baby's immune system. I am so in love with this new baby and oh my gosh, my daughter Liz is almost obsessed. LOL. There's plenty of love for them all...I think that will help. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  4. Susie,
Layla Rose is so precious. I know what you mean......sometimes I see babies out in the world at 2 weeks, and it blows me away. I didn't take my babies out in the world until they were a bit older. Brock and Emily are such a cute couple, and it's nice to see there is so much love and respect between them.

Congratulations on your great granddaughter, Susie. wow, that's something special.

    1. Thank you , you are too kind. I just hope I can stay young enough to enjoy this baby. Our youngest grandchild is Emma and she's going to be eleven next month. I think that is why Liz is major crazy about her granddaughter Layla. I wish I could show the photo of Emma holding her new niece.:) Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  8. Congratulations Susie, a beautiful great-granddaughter and she is indeed precious !
I keep hoping my granddaughter will soon announce she is pregnant, I'm afraid by the time a 'great grandchild' appears, I'll be too old and broke down to enjoy him/her.
Happy first day of Spring sweet lady.

  9. Oh dear Jo, I know what you mean. I am hoping I at least get to see this baby girl often. I don't know about playing running games or jumping rope. .Maybe sit on the floor with dolls, God willing. We have not had any new babies in our family for a year.. My niece's baby is a year old already....but I have only been around him three times. So we needed this baby to love on. :) Blessings for a great weekend. xoxo,Susie
