My daughter Kathy made this needle point for me one Mother's Day. It reads, "Mother is another word for love." I made a table scape with it this week.
I added the little Angel that Liz gave to me when my mother passed away.
My clematis bloomed this weekend...perfect timing.
I got flowers for the porch for my mother's day gift. Plus stationary and stamps, you know how I love that. I received a scarf and blouse also. I felt so special.
On Saturday, Liz's children had a gathering for Liz when she returned home from her job. Sweet smiling Max in the baby swing. Layla in her diaper playing around her "pool" ...that pool is no bigger than a wash tub. She only got her feet wet, said she wasn't ready to swim. LOL.
Liz holding Luke while his mommy , Lynzie feeds him his meds in a bit of applesauce. This is how the doctor told them to get him to take the meds. The medicine is to help with his digestion and to help him not lose weight.
Sunday, mother's day....Angie had a big brunch and Kathy came down from Elkhart. Karen and her daughter Savannah came over. Mark and Jake were there also. We just had the best time , good food and lots of laughs.
Angie got a huge box of old photos out and the laughing really began. You know those days in the 80's when we had big hair and ugly clothes. There was a lot of "What were we thinking" being said.
This last shot was Sunday evening's sunset. It was a wonderful weekend filled with family and fun .
I hope all of you enjoyed your weekend. Today is more sunshine, and I am smiling. XO
Your Mother's Day sounds pretty perfect with all the love and the flowers! The clematis is beautiful. Those kids are all so sweet and happy and the little girl with the little oool gave me a chuckle. Not ready to swim. Haha. So glad you all got together and looking at old pictures really is fun ... and funny too sometimes. Luke is in good hands with Liz and Lynzie. ❤️
ReplyDeleteThank you Nonnie. I loved my mother's day with all my daughters and most of the grandkids. Luke's mommy is and gigi are both nurses...so I feel he is in good hands. Wish you could have seen his little lips eating that applesauce. So sweet. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHi Susie, Sounds like a very lovely Mother's Day. I am remembering Luke and all of you in my prayers. I was thrilled to receive a pot of flowers from my 6 yr old neighbor. We are having gorgeous weather the last 2 days. Hope you enjoy your Mon. afternoon. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you sweet Mildred...for all your prayers and good thoughts. It was good to see everyone together this weekend. How kind of your little neighbor girl to give you a plant. She will remember that too. Blessings, love, xoxo, Susie

DeleteWhat a precious needlework! I loved everything about this post for your Mother's Day! It made me feel like one of the family, now that I've got to know everyone through your words and photos. I was so glad to see your Lynzie and Baby Luke. I've been faithful in my prayers for him and the family. I remember his name so well because when I told Louis Dean about his Sweet Susie's great grandson, he said, "Luke, the Great Physician. We will remember to pray."
ReplyDeleteI love old pictures! Will we laugh at the ones we are taking now someday?
Linda, It was one of the best mother's day for me and my daughters. We all had some precious time together. We all got gifts for our children. :):)Flowers that I can plant are my favorites. Or already in a hanging basket. Thank you all for the wonderful prayers. They mean so much. Linda, I hope I am around long enough to laugh at some of today's photos. :) Blessings to you and LD, I love you guys, xoxo, Susie
DeleteThe needlepoint is lovely, Susie! And the way you used it. What a precious picture of Lynzie feeding little Luke while his grandmother holds him. And I'm so glad your Mother's Day saw family together, looking at old photos--I love to do that.
ReplyDeleteLove to you,
Dewena
Dewena, I enjoyed my entire weekend. I always love my time with family. The weather was just great too. I love going thru old boxes of photos. Angie kept saying, "mom how could you let me leave the house looking like this?" whenever she found a goofy shot of herself. Such fun. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteWhat a fabulous Mother's Day you lucky mom!! You have such a lovely, large and wonderful family, Susie, and I know all of your kids appreciate you.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know your daughter Kathy lived in Elkhart. That's 20 minutes from the lakehouse and I do a lot of my shopping there and we also have dinner quite a bit at the various restaurants. Wow. We should meet up some time if you are visiting her or maybe sometime in Shipshewanna. Ooh...the fun we'd have!
Jane x
Blondie, My daughter Kathy goes into Michigan a lot to look at antiques. She doesn't buy much. This summer she is moving closer to Indianapolis. So she will be near by and we can all have more time together. Yes, she has taken me to Shipshewana. So now I will not be up north for any reason, other than touring the N.D. campus, one day....just because I love it there. Blessings to you, hope your weekend was fun too. xoxo, Susie
DeleteYou are one blessed lady!! Prayers continue!

DeleteWhat a lovely needle point that Kathy made you for Mother's Day. Stationary is a nice gift also. I love getting new stationary for writing special notes to loved ones. Max looks so happy in the baby swing. And little Luke is precious. I know what you mean.....sometimes when I look at old photos, I smile at the old clothes and hairdos that we wore back then. It sounds like you had the most wonderful Mother's Day, Susie.
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
