Catching Some Rays....

Totally different meaning than in my younger days.  When the sun came up this week it was ablaze on the woods, out front.
Burning thru the trees down the road, showing the gold of the neighbor's  two oak trees and our birch.
Then onto sunset...which did not seem to take long at all, what with the shorter days.  I am loving these above normal temperatures we have had  this week. It is like a sweet bonus, before you know what. Oh you know. LOL

Ted had his IBMT clinic visit yesterday.  Such a long day. Last time (3 mos. ago) he answered the Covid questions and had his temperature taken , then was given a sticker pass. This time there were Covid tests being given in the parking lot opposite of the Cancer Center entrance. The cases in Indy are higher than ever before...so tests stations are in many different areas. Yet...when Ted went into the Cancer Center entrance this time, he did not get his temperature taken. That seems ridiculous. He was just asked the Covid questions. You all know what they are.  What I am getting at is...here is the entrance where many with weakened immune systems go in the building and wait. Yet they are not taking their temperatures.  Go figure.

Once in a room to himself, Ted got a round of baby shots. Got his vitals taken and labs. A who's who lab work, but he won't know the results for two weeks. The Doctor said Ted looked good and his counts were good. I still think his platelets are low...not within the range of normal.

Wishing all of you well. Please be safe. XO

  1. What beautiful sun rises and sun sets! I think, with so many asymptomatic people around, they have stopped taking the temperatures. Not everyone who has the virus has a fever. Hope Ted's lab work comes back with good results. Stay safe and well, Susie.

    1. Today was such a pretty day...sure made up for sitting in the car for hours waiting on Ted, yesterday. You know it crazy with the Virus...why are they talking about the machines that automatically take temperatures as people walk thru at airports, hospital, etc. What can we believe. I am praying the who's who comes back 100% donor. Bone marrow transplants are like weird science. Over the top. Hope you are doing better . Blessings to you, stay safe. xoxo, Susie

  3. Hi Sweetie, your photos are beautiful, I'm happy that you have nice weather. I didn't think about how you couldn't go in anymore, that has got to be ruff. I know that you have questions and input for the doctors, that you need to voice. You are both in my prayers, God bless you.

  4. So far, so good! Your photos are gorgeous, even the ground is gold. I have heard that some people who have Covid don't have a fever, so taking temps doesn't screen them all out. but at least it's something!

    1. Ginny, I guess I am learning that about temperatures. I just think things need to very serious for so many. I watch some walk in the clinic, barely able to stand, some with canes, walkers and then some in wheel chairs. They are so weak. Ted thankfully is walking well and alert enough to ask questions.I did make out a list of things , incase . Blessings to you, be safe. xoxo, Susie

  12. Susie, I'm always amazed to see the beautiful sunrises and sunsets in your area. I'm so sorry there is more cases of the virus in your state. I think many of the states has an increase, maybe because of the political days leading up to the election. So many people out and about. I'm glad Ted is doing good, Susie. That's such a relief.

I hope you are enjoying the colder November days while sipping on warm drinks inside. : )

  14. Oh glorious sunshine! I have so enjoyed these wonderful warm weather days.

Susie, if that happens again—no temps being taken—I hope you speak your mind. You are so right...that is just plain ridiculous.

    1. Vee, I know once Ted goes into the private rooms they do take his temps as part of his vitals. But I did not understand not taking it at the door. I asked Ted if he walked thru one of the doorway type gizmos that takes temps...he said , No. Now some of the comments from friends say they may not take the temps because of some people not having them and still being sick with the virus. Yikes. I pray what I heard today on the news about a possible vaccine is true. Stay safe honey. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Jeanie, It's getting to be mixed up on what is right or not needed. I just know that every time we have gone there since Covid it's been the questions and them take temperature. I do not go in with Ted..as I feel that is one more chance of exposure, if someone had the virus there. I never take Ted into the grocery or hardware store either. We go into our drs' appts alone also. Then get in the car and sanitize and wash up as soon as we are in the house. Always wear a mask too. Praying there a vaccine soon. Stay safe, Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  21. Susie, what beautiful pictures. I am so glad you are having beautiful weather. We still are too but it really is getting colder. That does seem irresponsible that they don't take temps is those kinds of situations. So far, here, I have gone into hospital twice for annual blood work and mamogram, and both times they took my temp. Now with the change of administration and a new task force, we might see better things. Sounds like Ted's test are coming out well. All such good news..Stay well, my friend..xxoJudy

I have been hustling to get things done before winter. So much prep. Ted needs to fire up the generator to see if it works. We had loaded the wood box. I actually painted it a new color . Debbie, I am not even going to think of snow...well other than getting my snow shovel ready in the shop. LOL. Blessings to you my dear sweet friend, love you, xoxo, Susie
