Warming....

We had a bit of warming yesterday. More to come today. Then it may turn ugly. Later tonight it may start raining. With more water added to the melted snow, this will lead to flooding. I have a feeling the sump pumps will be working for days.
When we moved here, there was a flood our first year . It was rain during winter, and with the ground frozen the water could not be soaked up. We had one pump at that time. Now we have what we called a piggybacked pump system. Plus we invested in a submersible pump . Our basement is too close to the water table in this area. So flooding is always a concern to me. I know when it comes down to cleaning, who the cleaning person is going to be....yes, me. I want to retire from cleaning .:):) My sister says I am a clean freak. Well maybe a little.
Hope your day is great . Hope you can get out in the fresh air. I am going to try it. xo

  3. We had 62 yesterday and the snow melted pretty well. It just made it sloppy. I would like to see a rain to possibly wash some of the germs out of the air. We all would love to see Spring and it is roughly a week away.We go from warm weather to cold with us only being in the 30's right now. Hope you have a wonderful day. I don't scoop snow, I have it done. My grandson is my helper with whatever I need done. Thanks for stopping by to see me. Take care. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.

  5. Here's hoping we don't go from extreme cold to extreme warm and no spring inbetween. These seasons sure are messed up aren't they. Spring is in the air here in WI but tomorrow is another severe weather advisory...up to 12 inches....there is no place to put all the snow.

  11. I hope your pumps keep working. We are in a major melt here, missed the bad storms but have high winds coming in tomorrow night. Been sick all day and I hope it passes so I can get out more than 5 minutes! My grandparents had sump pumps in their basement, below the floor, big pit but covered. They worked and kept their basement dry even is a bad flood. It was the best basement I have ever seen- bright and never musty smelling.
