Some Thanksgiving....

I got a photo of Layla...Her mom had to restyle her hair after this shot. :)
Here's Emma, her dad took this shot from the sofa.:) Look how she has grown taller than me. My baby granddaughter . I hate how fast time is flying by. It sure never went this fast when I was working.
Brock's wife (Emily), Karen,  my daughter's friend Amy, and Angie.  This was after everything was cleared and put away and we were just relaxing and visiting.  I thought I would get pictures of the food, and all the guests...but no I forgot about my camera.
This is thru the park , the day before Thanksgiving.  Some lighted Christmas decorations.
Driving thru town as it rained. It was cold , on Wednesday. Been cold since then really.
This wee house has been on my mind so much lately.  This is where we all lived with our parents till we got married, or joined the serve , or  just moved out. I do not know who lives here now. But this tiny house held all of us. Holidays there would be  many more as the years went along and we married and had children. We would all go to holiday lunch/dinner here...it seemed a constant flow of people coming and going. My parents and those days are long gone. The memory lingers. I have truly missed those old days this year, for some unknown reason.
Hoping all of you enjoyed a beautiful Thanksgiving filled with lots of love of family and friends.  Some good foods also.  Bless you. XO

  1. If you forgot about your camera during dinner, it means you were having a good time. So glad you got to spend Thanksgiving with family and friends. What a cute house you grew up in. Don't you wish you could go inside and see if it has changed? I don't know, I think time flew when I worked just as quickly as it does now. I don't know where the days go.

    1. Hi Kathy, I know that old house of my folks has changed..cause the people that bought it did remodel. I saw all the old kitchen cabinets in the yard one day. :) I enjoyed my whole Thanksgiving holidays. Bless you and Joe, xoxo, Susie

  2. Those memories kindled by holidays are some of the sweetest, I think. Your gathering and your childhood home evoke so many memories---eighteen years ago we spent Thanksgiving weekend clearing out our family home, for Daddy had sold it the year after Mother died, so it was the last gathering there.

I love looking back at it on Google, for the new family has kept it so beautifully, and have the prettiest flowers and lawn chairs, so I know they love it.

Hope we have some more of that GOOD SUN soon!

    1. Racheld, That last weekend in your family home had to have been sad. All those memories. The people in my parents old place...have no children they are an older couple. They cut down all of mommy's old lilacs...which seemed so sad. I had brought some lilac starts from there...so I do have those growing here in memory of mom. You know how when you were a kid everything seemed larger than life...that's how the yard seemed growing up...now it appears to be smaller. Blessings, we are having sunshine today. :):) xoxox, Susie

  4. Yes, that little house held all of you, Susie, but if it was filled with love, that's what matters. I am living in a small home right now, and Jess really liked it, said it was cozy. She came to visit after we went to her house for Thanksgiving. It sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. And it's been raining there, how nice. It's raining here today too!

I'm thankful for you, my dear blog friend.

    love, ~Sheri

    1. Sheri, Mom's little house did provide love for all of us to share. There's many memories of that house..my first kiss at the corner by the apple tree.:) I hope you love your home. Our house here is smaller than the one in town..but it's nice. I did have the best holiday weekend. So much fun. I am very thankful for you too young lady. Blessings, love, xoxo, Susie

  5. Susie...I miss the old times, too...my parents, brother, aunts and uncles that are long gone..cousins, some so far away, I see them only every 3 or 4 years. We had a small house, too, and all the family came there on holidays...one bath and, boy, did it get crowded...I wish I could have just one more Christmas Eve with all of them..

    1. BJ, Nothing was ever fancy at our little house, for how could it ever be with so many coming and going through out the entire day and evening. I miss those old days of family fun and all the love shared there. Like you ...one more gathering of all our loved ones would be so wonderful. Blessings to you and yours, hope your holiday weekend was filled with love. xoxo, Susie

  6. I actually got a few pictures of the food this year, but once dinner was on the table I put my phone away. We actually ate dinner and talked all evening. Very few moments on the phone and no television. Love spending time with the younger generation. So enjoyed your pictures and memories.

    1. Carol, With the men...the TV was on football games thru out the day.:) We women usually sit at the table playing games or just talking. It's always fun too when there's a baby around. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie
