The Weekend....

This is what Friday afternoon looked like...a thunder shower had just passed and the sun was trying to break thru the clouds.
Here's what it looks like this morning. :):) It is snowing sideways this Saturday morning.  But if the temps get up to 45, as predicted, this won't last.
Here's the lilies coming up. The irises are also.
I told you Ted had a project. That is why we were in Hobby Lobby earlier this week. This is a small light box he was interested in making.
Brazilian cherry and purple heart woods.
This is the light fixture, a small bulb ,on a spring tension clip.
This front is burl wood infused with resin (made by Heath) . Ted did not want to waste any of the resin burl Heath made for him. ...so here's the little light box I think it looks like the sun setting  over a cliff. I should have shown the table this is on, as it's an old sewing machine made into a side table. Ted made that also.
We will be possibly watch some movies today. LOL. I might sweep snow later.  There's a fire in the fireplace going already this morning. Enjoy the weekend and please be safe.  XO

    1. Hi Sylvia, I call our deck a porch cause it's out front...part of it is under roof. I wish we could have had a normal winter for Feb....so we could be counting on March to bring us a sweet pleasant spring. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  2. Very nice! Light boxes are especially nice during these dark dreary days. I hope you are right about the snow being gone and the temps get up to 46. After these last two weeks I'm ready for Spring!

    1. Cindy, I am proud of the work Ted does in the shop. He got his son involved in turning...then Heath just ran with it...making the infused resin burls. I am not into hot weather at all(too old) but I was enjoying the fresh air and sitting on the porch awhile. 23 more days till spring. Hope to see you at Horton's in March. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. That light box would make things seem very cozy in the evenings. Curl up with some movies today, for sure! We have had very bizarre weather here in Ontario. There is very little snow left, apart from the big piles that have been created from plowing. So very strange for February. I imagine we will see snow later this week, however. -Jenn

If you are concerned about me being up to no good, please do a Google search for SiteHoundSniffs (with or without the .com). The results should prove that it is meant to be a very good thing.

Specifically, what we are wanting to do is take a screenshot of your header and display it (linked back to the homepage) in place of the text-link. 8. Susie, Your porch is very similar to ours. We enlarged it and so part of it is covered with a roof, the other part isn't. We enjoy coffee there often when weather permits. What strange weather you are having. My sis, Karen-Lily Valley, in IN keeps me posted on her weather too. She had very strong wind late yesterday.
Ted's lightbox is so nice. What gorgeous and unique wood, too. Your fire in the fireplace sounds very comforting. We were on the road yesterday to an appt. so I may just sit back and read today! lol
    God bless. xoxo Mildred

    1. Mildred, I love sitting out on our porch. The only draw back I would love for it to be screened in. Because some days I think it would be nice to have supper our there. Karen's temps can vary as much as 5-10 degrees in the southern part of our state. But soon it will be spring for all of us. :) Blessings for a wonderful Sunday. xoxo, love, Susie

  9. Hi Susie, we have had a strange February weather-wise, too. It's been so mild with temps in the mid-70's all week. The only snows we've had all winter didn't amount to an inch or so. We had a few sprinkles yesterday and it's sunny today but much much cooler. I love your deck, so nice! And your hubby's light box is very interesting. I've never seen one before. He is quite talented. Enjoy your weekend!

    1. Oh so lucky for the worst of the snow to pass you by...we have truly been lucky that way this winter. The most snow we had was 5 inches in one day...and it melted quickly. All our snows this year would have been one big snow two years ago.Cheryl, Ted was smiling when I read your comment. :) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  13. wow, Ted made this light fixture, that's great! And the table it's sitting on looks very nice also. Oh my, Susie, Ted sure has a talent with wood work. Your deck looks so pretty with rain, but even lovelier with all that snow.

Have a sweet Sunday, and enjoy the movies. It sounds like a good day for watching them.

  16. What an amazing creation your husband made! I bet sitting and looking at that lowers the BP.

Your day inside while the snow falls sideways sounds delightful to me. Something about taking time to watch a movie during the daytime seems really luxurious, and restorative.

  17. LOL Susie. I have to say we peeps that live here in the midwest are never board with weather that's for sure. We have 4 seasons and sometimes the seasons appear early and then go away and then come back. So winter then a little spring and then back to winter for us. Never a dull moment! The light box is gorgeous. Happy New week.
