This Week...

Yesterday and almost all this week, gray skies.  Chilly too.
Yesterday late, the skies cleared  and we had sunshine and blue skies....for a little while. :):)
Wednesday was Wacky Day at school.  My daughter Angie sent this photo . This boy in her class wanted his picture taken with the teacher. His hair is green. I think he really wanted to show that to everyone. LOL
Ted in the shop, sanding a stool top. He is making a new little kid stool for another special one. Our granddaughter Margo , called and told us she and her husband are expecting their first baby in September. Ted has made all the grandchildren(most are grown ) and now the great grands, little stools to stand on to brush their teeth , or sit on .
This weeping cherry tree is blooming , somewhat.
Blossoms look so pretty. Love that pink color.
Daughter Liz sent a picture of Samson, the rooster, knocking(pecking) at the back door. So funny. I think he knows she throws bread to the chicken out this door .
Not much has happened around here this week. Lots of rainy days . Thankful for pops of sunshine here and there. Frost in our forecast.  I think soon the days will stay warm and then we can work on some flowers. I am planning on sowing the grass seed tomorrow, as the temps will be in the 60's.
Hope all of you have a great weekend.  XO

  1. It's hard for me to get my head around you and Ted being great grandparents! Wow!
What a wonderful tradition about the step stools!

Nothing wrong with a nice slower paced week! Wish I had one of those myself. Not sure why I stay so busy. I know I'm a type A personality and have a certain drive to do and accomplish something even if it's simply cleaning the house. I would be happy to stay all day for days on end but that seldom happens.
You strike me as a people person and if so, you will soon be out and about!
Wednesday was cold and windy but you would never have known that by the color of the sky and all the beautiful greens everywhere! I'm enjoying spring because it can be 100 degrees and summertime any day now!
Wishing you and Ted a wonderful weekend!

    1. Thank you Linda. I think you may be right about me and people. For many years it was my girls around, then 30 years of coworkers. Out here it's a bit lonely at times...as Ted seems to stay in the shop lots. I just can't get excited about housework any more. LOL. Oh I do not like the heat of summer to get over 70....so a Texas summer would cook me. LOL. Glad you are having spring like days. Blessings to you and Ld. love you guys, xoxo, Susie

  2. What a cute picture of your daughter at school on "Wacky Day." That is so nice of Ted to make all the grandchildren stools to climb on while brushing their teeth. I'd love to see it when it's finished. That blossom from the weeping cherry tree is very pretty, Susie. You are having Spring later than we did. All the blossoms from the trees have come and blown in the winds already.

    Have a blessed weekend, dear.

    love, ~Sheri

    1. Sheri, Last year the blossoms of the cherry tree blew of and lined the driveway. It was so pretty. I can remember my daughters' having twin day...when they dressed like their friends. Wishing you a great weekend too. Blessings, love, xoxo, Susie

  4. You may have had lots of gray skies but your grass is gorgeously green!

Seeing Samson coming to the door makes me miss the free range hens we had at our old house. Maybe not enough to get some for here but I loved being in the kitchen working when the ladies came up to the glass doors looking up at me, hoping for a banana. We never had a rooster but my husband always wanted one.

    1. Dewena, That is funny about the chickens. My daughter and her husband let the chickens out during the day and put them away at night. Too many coyotes. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Jenn, I am so glad Ted started making those stools for the grandchildren...then now when we are starting to have great grands, he lights up and says, "I better get busy making another stool." The last two he has put a Teddy Bear on. He puts their names in them also. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Kathy, I remember my girls having special days at school. Ted almost has that stool finished. I have to write the names on them and then he used his dremel tool too engrave the names. Kathy this weekend is truly going to be spring here. I hope you get some of this good weather also. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  7. What wonderful news about Margo's baby! Our weather has been windy and cold, too. Hoping for a warm up this weekend. How fortunate for the grands that Ted makes them a stool - a real treasure. Wishing you a joyful weekend. xoxo

    1. Mildred, I was happy that Margo called me, as she was putting it on face book that very day. I am not a fan of people hearing about everything on face book first. We are to be 62 degrees here today and 74 degrees on Sunday. Now this is spring. :) Yes, Ted was hoping each child would always keep the little stools. I hope they do and think of him when they see them. Blessings to you this weekend too, xoxo, Susie

  8. Grey skies go away right? I'm so tired of the grey and gloomy. I'm ready to head back south! Lordy....Your tree is beautiful and I bet it blooms like crazy tomorrow. Sunshine today and 70 degrees tomorrow. Isn't this weather crazy! Cute pics. Animals know where the good food comes from don't they!

  9. Happy Weekend Susie, We had some cold days too, but yesterday warmed up and today will be in the 70's. Tomorrow the temp is supposed to drop to 40-how can that be. I'm so ready for nice warm spring days to stay. Love your pics-what a hoot to have a rooster knock on the door for bread. Hope you have a great weekend.
