Starting The Week.....

Sunday started with heavy rains, then turned into a pretty day.  Ted  arrived home safe and sound from his week long fishing trip with his brothers and other relatives.
Monday morning was sunny and bright. Ted got the mowing and weed whacking done in a short time.  I never mow while he is away. so when he returns some times he may have to mow the lawn twice to mulch up all the tall grass. I have never driven his zero radius turn mower...and I don't think he wants me to try.
Yesterday evening was the best...no wind, no rain, just a pleasant time. A bit of time sitting on the porch and listening to the birds. That is my favorite part of the country life....the quiet. Of course I love big sky viewing also.
This morning started off with a slight overcast.  The sun is trying to show itself. The clouds are playing peek-a-boo with it. After I took this shot of the porch, I can see it needs some staining. Gaaaa, you all know how long that took me a couple years ago. Weeks.
This little patio rug has had a cursed life. Ever since I bought it...it seems to have rained much more, so it's either soaking wet or rolled up to stay dry. I am so ready to throw it out and find another one, only bigger. I never go out barefoot, so I do like a rug under my sock feet. LOL. All those days of running around barefoot till the bottoms of my feet were crusted with dirt, are long gone. It's even hard to believe I rarely wore shoes in the summertime....well as a kid.
Please remember all those in England hurt or lost in the senseless attacks.  Those attacks only make us more resolved to stop terrorism.  One day we will.  Hug your loved ones today.  XO

    1. Thank you honey. I never will have this porch like I want it. I have more chairs to bring out and the chaise lounge is still in the shed. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  3. We had more than our share of rain here in New York. I am hoping that we get some sunshine.

There is so much devastation in England that I cannot stop thinking about the concert. Going to a concert is a once in a lifetime thing for a lot of us. We look forward to seeing our favorite singers and now for a long time people will be scared to attend a concert. God help those parents who lost their kids and whose kids are wounded. My heart goes out to them.

  4. I love your view, Susie, and your deck is so nice. My patio rug has seen better days, but it stays outside all year long in all the elements and I'll probably keep until next year. Hope it holds up until then.

We're still having a little rain here. Sunshine is needed! The flowers will really take off then. Of course the grass is growing fast and needs mowing. I don't mow much anymore as BG thinks he does a better job. lol! He does, I admit! :)
Take care and have a great day!

    1. Cheryl, I am thinking of fabric painting that dreary rug. LOL...but once I got it home, I could see it should have been much bigger. I am ready for more flowers. I want to plant a few things here. I think I could still mow with a push mower. I used to mow my yard then go to my mom's a block away and mow her yard too....then go to work..oh to be that strong again. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  5. Hi Susie, Oh girl you've got a beautiful yard and deck area. My grandsons mow in our neighborhood and often have to mow those healthy lawns twice. I think the customers get a good deal-only $20. for mowing and blowing etc. Even when they mow twice, they don't charge extra. The grandsons have a riding mower at home, but when they do our neighbors yards, they use our old gas mower.
Hope our weather will return to spring-its cloudy today and just got cold. I'm ready for nice warm days!

    1. Noreen, I love that your grandsons mow. I have always said , kids can make money mowing, raking trimming and even shoveling snow in winter....if they have a mind to.
I am ready for pleasant temps and sunny days. LOL. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

    1. Mildred, Glad you received rain when you needed it. It would be so nice to be neighbors and sit together. Measure the area you need s rug , because I was very disappointed in my little porch rug...it sure needed to be larger. Thank you for always visiting and leaving kind comments...they mean so much. Blessings, love you, xoxo, Susie

  7. I'm lying in the girl bunk of the camper listening to the wind whistle through the window. The air is chilly with a low of 52 tonight! Nearly unheard of in May in Texas! I fixed a steak dinner for Dean and Louis Dean....and me. They had a productive day and the roof is ON! We go home tomorrow!
Yes, we don't get much news down here but we are remembering Manchester.....

    1. Linda, Our weather is just all mixed up. I am thrilled the roof is on. Will LD be shingling it ? You've been at the ranch a long time. Linda, whenever I hear of such evil used on children, I get such a sick feeling. I have to pray for the families...they need our prayers. Please be safe on the trip back home. I love you guys, Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  8. Wonderful post, Susie. I went barefoot for years and years and I still like to walk barefoot in the soft grass in the summer.

I am sick over what happened in England, Susie. It is so awful what one human being can do when they set out to destroy lives.

Have a wonderful rest of the week- xo Diana

Some times our world is a sad place. Prayer is the only way we can help, most times.....but it can be so powerful.
Hope your week goes well too. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Judy, If it doesn't stop raining around here...I don't know if I can even sit outside. LOL. I do like to sit out back under the covered part out of the rain...as long as it is not lightening out. I do love to watch the birds and listen to them. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  12. Susie, I bet Ted was glad to be back home from his fishing trip with his brothers, and he already mowed the lawn, how wonderful. It looks great! Oh, how nice it must be to sit on your porch and listen to the birds. I usually have to go the park or rose garden or trail to step into nature and hear their song.

Such tragic things are happening in our world, Susie. It saddens me, and I think about all the families who have lost their loved ones.

    love, ~Sheri

Sheri, it is heart breaking to see the news and they show the faces of some of the children . I pray, because I feel the need to do something. Blessings to you. xoxo, love, Susie
