Uncle Freddie......

This wonderful man is uncle to my daughters.  He passed away early Saturday morning. Of cancer complications. Next month Freddie would have been 80. So hard to believe. He was always fun to be around . He worked hard all the time.  Stayed so active.
Here is his family, son Mike, wife Linda, and daughter Tracy.  There was a showing on Monday evening and the funeral was on Tuesday.
I am in this (dark) photo of Fred's children, my daughters, Step daughter to John (Fred's brother) , and his sister Barbara's children. When I was young, all this young adults were babies and toddlers.  One day I will have to tell the story of my marriage at 16. I was married to Freddie's little brother Eddie. He is the father of my four daughters.   Fred's passing was very sad for us...he was the last of my daughters'  family on their father's side. Their father, aunts and uncles are gone.
There's cousins, like Frieda and Phillip. Here at the church , after the Catholic service. Our Catholic church is torn down , so services are held in the school basement. We will miss Uncle Freddie.
The next morning , this is how the skies changed.
It rained and is still raining on and off. Hoping we do not get the very heavy rains. Some storms are headed this way.
Take care. Hope all of you have a good weekend, XO

  2. I am so, so sorry for your loss, and your daughters. Family relations can be complicated, but the ties are binding, as well as the love.

We've had the same rain and more to come.

Sending a big hug during this difficult time, Susie.

    1. Thank you Kathy. I met up with my oldest daughter for lunch yesterday, she was still having a hard time. Some times, it takes longer for our hearts to let go. I know the sharp pain of loss will ease..but the longing for one more hug or talk seems to come and go. Bless you, xoxo, Susie

  6. I'm sorry, Susie for your family's loss. It is very sad to see the older ones leaving and now we are the older ones. I only have my aunt and uncle left on my mother's side and they are getting very old. We a,ways wonder why we only are able to gather everybody together for a funeral. It is good to do that though and reminisce the old times. God bless and comfort you and your daughters and all the family.

  7. Sending hugs and prayers. We are a small family here, so when we have a family member pass, it really is felt. Sadly our Thanksgiving table is shrinking in size. My boys might change that in the future. ;-)
    Lots of Love, Carla

  8. I’m intrigued by your marriage to Eddie....
    Life is complicated, isn’t it?
I’m blessed in that I’ve not lost a lot of people I’ve been very close to.....yet. I know it’s coming. Of all the aunts and uncles that have passed away in my lifetime, the one I miss the very most is my landlady Mrs. Morrison. I met her when I was 15 and she was 63. I was 46 when she died at 94. Me and all four of my children loved her and she loved us. I’m so blessed to have had someone like her in my life. Perhaps you feel this way about Uncle Freddie......

    1. Linda, When you wrote of the landlady. My guardian angel was my mom's divorce lawyer's wife. She bought a little house for mom to live with all us kids. She took us to church, for which I am so thankful . She was the nearest to a grandmother that I had..I loved her and her husband with all my heart and to this day...she is the one that gave me good childhood memories, church camp, time at her cottage. Taught me manners and fashion. I still love my daughters' father, Eddie...he has been gone 17 years. I miss him. I always loved him, but did not always like him...do you know what I mean? Blessings, xoxo, Love you, Susie
